[0:00] of the Christian life today. And, you know, definitely, definitely, definitely, someone being baptized and then a granddaughter that is very special.

[0:17] This day is very special.

[0:37] It's special every year, but especially today for some reason. And I believe it is because the Lord has been renewing some things in my life, in my heart.

[0:51] And today, today I want to talk about Jesus, our Passover. Passover. And we get that in 1 Corinthians 5, verse 7.

[1:10] And we will start here in the New Testament and then we will go on. We will go back into Exodus and look at that. But the Jewish Passover was a shadow and a foretelling of Christ's coming and what he has done for us.

[1:35] You know, in the Passover, they took a lamb and they set him, even, I imagine they still do it, the Orthodox Jews.

[1:53] But in Jesus' day, they would take the lamb and it started back in Egypt. They would take the lamb and they would set it apart and it had to be a spotless lamb, a lamb without blemish.

[2:09] And they would, God had told Moses, he said, this month is the beginning of months. And so, it's the first month of the Jewish year.

[2:20] And on the 10th day, you take this lamb and you set it apart and you watch it for four days. And if there's no blemish shows up in this lamb, then on the 14th day, this lamb must be slain and the blood shed.

[2:42] You know, in the very first Passover, and we'll go and we'll look at that, how the blood was applied and all of that.

[2:53] But why blood? You know, in Hebrews, it tells us, it says, without the shedding of blood, there is no remission. There's no remission of sins.

[3:05] There's no forgiveness of sins. without blood. And that is why in the Old Testament, every year, they had to kill their lamb and shed that blood to cover their sins for another year.

[3:21] But Jesus came and fulfilled the Passover. He was the perfect lamb. He was the perfect lamb without blemish, without spot.

[3:33] and he shed his blood not only to cover the sins of humanity for a year, but to cover the sins of humanity, to forgive them and wash them away for eternity.

[3:52] Jesus, the spotless lamb of God. You know, don't you think every year when the priests, they would bring, they would take these lambs and they would kill them and they would take the blood and all of that.

[4:08] Don't you think that they would just, they would look at the prophecies, they would look at the prophecies and they would see that, yes, someday, someday, there will be that perfect sacrifice that they will no longer need to do this.

[4:30] We all know that the Jewish rabbis, they rejected Jesus. Not all of them. Not all of them. But as a whole, they did.

[4:45] But in 1 Corinthians chapter 5, we'll read verse 7 and 8. Purge out, therefore, the old leaven.

[4:56] Verse 6 says, Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out, therefore, the old leaven that ye may be a new lump as ye are unleavened for even Christ, our Passover, is sacrificed for us.

[5:14] Therefore, let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the leaven, the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

[5:29] The unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. You know, the children of Israel, they had the Passover, the Passover feast, and then the feast of unleavened bread, and then on the day after that next Sabbath was the feast of firstfruits, and it was all a foretelling of our Lord Jesus.

[5:57] Jesus, the firstfruits. He's the firstfruits of them that slept. Hallelujah. You know, God laid it all out, but it was a mystery until the fullness of time had come.

[6:13] So why do we need blood? I quoted that verse in Hebrews, where it says, without shedding of blood, there is no remission. You know, in Romans, he tells us, and we know this, that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

[6:32] All have sinned, and what is the fruit of that? For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

[6:48] All have sinned. There's not one of you here that has not sinned. We were born with that sin nature, and not only do we need to be forgiven for our sin, but we need to be born again that that sin nature can be dealt with, that that sin nature can be crucified with Christ, like it says in Romans 6.

[7:18] It says, know ye not, in verse 3, that as many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ, were baptized into his death.

[7:30] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death, that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

[7:46] For if we've been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection, knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

[8:08] Reckon that old man dead, and how does that happen? It happens as we are born again, as we come to him, and we realize our need, and we lay down our life before him.

[8:24] You know, let's turn to John chapter 3. You know, this Jesus here, Nicodemus came to him by night, and Nicodemus was one of those rulers that saw that yes, there's something about Jesus, and he admitted it.

[8:53] he acknowledged it. He did not deny it like some of the others, but he came to Jesus, and he said, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

[9:18] You know, he acknowledged he acknowledged the truth, he acknowledged this. What was Jesus' answer?

[9:31] Jesus said, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

[9:44] Born again. Born again. How do we become born again? You know, Jesus just laid this out for him. Unless you are born again, you can't see the kingdom of God.

[10:01] Well, Nicodemus, he says, how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born?

[10:13] Remember, Jesus had just done told him that you cannot see the kingdom of God unless you're born again.

[10:26] And so Nicodemus, in his natural mind, he says, what are you talking about? I mean, how can I, am I to enter again into my mother's womb and be born?

[10:39] you know, we need the eye of the spirit to see the kingdom of God. Well, let's read what Jesus says here.

[10:52] You know, you know, religion, Nicodemus, he was in the most religious of all religious systems, but it blinded the eyes of what God was doing.

[11:11] You know, I believe Nicodemus later, I believe he believed and he came to the Lord. I believe that, you know, he was one of those, maybe a secret believer.

[11:22] I believe he was one of those that believed. But many did not believe. They rejected Christ. And why is that? It is because their religion blinded their eyes and their hearts that they could not see.

[11:42] That's what religion does. Jesus said, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

[11:59] So the only way to enter into the kingdom of God is to be born of water, the water of the word, this word that we have here before us. You know, as we receive this word, as we believe it and receive it into our heart, and we say, yes, I believe that the Holy Ghost can come and bring that seed of Christ into our heart and born us again, make us a new creation in Christ Jesus.

[12:32] and then old things will pass away and all things become new. It's not just a religious practice, but it is a life, the life of God, the life of God.

[12:49] born of water and of the spirit, that which is born of the flesh is flesh, that which is born of the spirit is spirit, marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again, the wind bloweth where it listeth, thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, whether it goeth, so is every one that is born of the spirit.

[13:20] And Nicodemus says, how can these things be? You know, we cannot explain how it all works, but we receive it by faith and we enter into it by faith.

[13:34] That is how we also walk, the Christian walk, is by faith. Yes, by faith. Christ is our Passover.

[13:47] Why did we need a Passover? Why did we, you know, the children of Israel, they're in Egypt. Why did they need a Passover that night?

[13:59] It was because the death angel was coming. The death angel was going to go through the land of Egypt and he was going to kill all the first born. That's what he was doing.

[14:12] That's what was happening at that time. And so God made a way, made a way for the children of Israel. people. So I'm going to turn, I'm going to turn to Exodus and we'll look at a few of the things leading up to the Passover.

[14:42] You know, the children of Israel, they were slaves in the land of Egypt and we don't have time to go into much of this. But they were slaves.

[14:54] The Bible tells us it was 430 years to the day that from the time that Jacob, that Israel and his family came into Egypt till the day that they left.

[15:10] you know, in the first many years everything was fine and they lived in the land of Goshen and they were treated well.

[15:22] But later there arose a Pharaoh that did not know Joseph and after a while they found themselves slaves in the land of Egypt.

[15:34] You know, and isn't that, isn't that how our life is. You know, we're born into this life and we live as a child and everything is well and then there comes a time when we realize that we're a sinner and we're in bondage to sin.

[15:58] We're in bondage to sin and we slave, we serve that old taskmaster until such a time that we are born again and we are set free from that taskmaster.

[16:16] Well, so God had sent Moses to Egypt to deliver his people and he went to Pharaoh and he said, let us go three days journey into the desert and sacrifice unto the Lord our God.

[16:32] And, you know, Pharaoh responded. He said, oh, these people, they're not working hard enough.

[16:44] They don't have enough to do, so let's make them work harder and we won't give them any straw anymore and they need to produce the same amount of bricks.

[17:00] Well, it took some time. we don't really know how long for all of those plagues there in Egypt, possibly a year or more.

[17:12] And during that time, things got harder and rougher and the taskmasters were so hard on the children of Israel and they despaired under it.

[17:28] Isn't that, isn't that how we are drawn unto Christ as we see that we're in such bondage and we're under such a heavy burden, the burden of sin and the burden of this world and we have such a hard taskmaster, the devil.

[17:54] Maybe we desire to live for God, but we just can't do it and we struggle and we can try to serve God, but we can't.

[18:08] But Jesus delivers us and then we can serve God. But that is how it was for them. Things got harder before they got delivered.

[18:23] And then finally, after some plagues, in chapter 8, verse 25, Pharaoh, finally he called Moses and he said, well, go and sacrifice to God in the land.

[18:38] You know, Moses had said, we want to go three days journey out into the wilderness. Well, Pharaoh is trying to strike a compromise here. And he says, well, just serve God here in the land.

[18:52] Just do it here. You don't have to leave. Moses' answer was, we will go three days journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the Lord our God as he shall command us.

[19:12] Well, Pharaoh says, I'll let you go and you may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness. Only you shall not go very far.

[19:23] Entreat the Lord for me. You know, Pharaoh, he wanted the plague to be removed and he wanted to continue on, but he didn't want his slaves to go very far.

[19:40] And you know, today, I'm just thinking about this. You know, the devil will make compromise with people today. And today's Easter and there's probably more people in this, you know, in church this morning than any other Sunday morning in the whole year.

[20:03] The devil doesn't care. He doesn't care if you go to church. He doesn't care if you want to go serve the Lord one Sunday.

[20:14] But just don't go very far. Just don't get too fanatic here. just go and serve the Lord, but then I'll see you Monday morning. Yeah.

[20:28] The devil, that's how he makes his living is by compromise. compromise. whenever, whenever someone desires to be set free from their guilt and their sin, that's the first thing the devil will do is try to make a compromise.

[21:11] Well, you know, it's really not that important. Well, you really, I mean, you can just accept Jesus as your Savior and just continue life as usual.

[21:24] And all of those lies, I'll tell you, when we become born again, those old things pass away and now everything has become new, we have a new heart and a new life and we live for God, we live for our Lord Jesus, not for self, not for the devil, no.

[21:56] Well, the plagues continued and some very grievous plagues and finally the people were saying, the land is being destroyed.

[22:09] Pharaoh, what are you doing? Why don't you just let these people go? In chapter 10, verse 8, Pharaoh said to Aaron and Moses, he said, go serve the Lord your God, but who are they that shall go?

[22:33] And Moses said, we will go with our young, with our old, with our sons, with our daughters, with our flocks, with our herds, will we go? For we must hold a feast unto the Lord.

[22:49] And Pharaoh said, let the Lord be so with you as I will let you go and your little ones look to it, for evil is before you. Not so, go now ye that are men and serve the Lord, for that ye did desire.

[23:04] And he drove them out of his presence. He said, you men, you go serve the Lord, but don't you take your families along, don't you take your herds along.

[23:15] You know, the devil, he doesn't mind if you want to serve the Lord, but just don't worry about your friends. You know, you've got good friends, you just keep your good friends.

[23:26] And, you know, the Bible tells us that evil communications corrupt good manners. Most of the time when you follow the Lord Jesus, your friends will change.

[23:38] Yes, your acquaintances will change. Sometimes your vocation will change. You know, Pharaoh said, leave your flocks here. You know, he wanted them to leave their livelihood there.

[23:57] Everything of our life, our friends, our vocation, our leisure, all of life comes under the Lordship of Jesus Christ when we become a new creation in Christ Jesus.

[24:17] Jesus. you know, we don't have time to go into all of these things, but the Bible tells us that these plagues were dealing with the gods of Egypt.

[24:43] And you know, I was looking into some of these things and they had many gods and they worshipped many animals and one of their most holy gods was a bull and they had one that they worshipped and when that bull died, they would embalm him just like the Pharaoh and save him for generations.

[25:15] But God, you know, one of the plagues was a moraine that the cattle got and many of their cattle died. You know, their God could not save them and so it goes down the line.

[25:28] They worshipped many gods and their gods were defeated. There was darkness over the whole land for three days.

[25:39] Well, Egypt, they worshipped the sun god, but the sun god could not help them. They were in the midst of darkness. Finally, in Exodus 10, verse 24, Pharaoh calls Moses and he says, Go, serve the Lord.

[26:01] Only let your flocks and your herds be stayed. let your little ones also go with you. I like Moses' answer here.

[26:13] A very, very good answer. Thou must also, thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may sacrifice and the Lord our God our cattle also shall go with us.

[26:30] There shall not a hoof be left behind. Hallelujah. When we become born again, when we leave the kingdom of darkness and we're born into the kingdom of God, there's nothing left behind, but everything becomes new.

[26:48] Old things are passed away and they're gone. We leave them there and now we become a new creation in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah. All of our life changes.

[27:00] all of our life comes under the lordship of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah. There is no such thing as accepting Jesus as your savior and him not being lord of your life.

[27:15] There is no such thing. If he's your savior, he has bought you with his blood, the precious blood of Jesus, the most precious thing that has ever been on this earth, the blood of Jesus and he buys you.

[27:33] He cleanses you with that blood and he cleanses, he buys all of your life. Not a hoof is left behind.

[27:43] No, no, no attachments back in Egypt. When we leave Egypt, when we leave this world, we must cut all those ties, everything that connects us back to that old kingdom, it must be cut off and it will be cut off by the blood of Jesus.

[28:06] Cut off by the blood of Jesus. You know, the devil, he's the master compromiser, but Jesus will cut it all off if we will allow it.

[28:20] If we will give ourselves to him, he will deliver us from this world, just like he delivered Israel from the land of Egypt.

[28:33] You know, we were all in bondage in this world, just like Israel was in bondage to Egypt. Well, so Pharaoh said, take heed that ye see my face no more.

[28:56] He didn't want to see Moses and Aaron again. Well, that was the last plague until Passover night when the firstborn died.

[29:13] Lord. In Exodus 12, the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, this month shall be unto you the beginning of months.

[29:30] It shall be the first month of the year. And he goes on, he tells them, gives them instructions to take the lamb.

[29:41] They must be the lamb, a spotless lamb. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year.

[29:55] Ye shall take it out from the sheep or from the goats. Verse 6, ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month. And the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

[30:10] And they shall take of the blood and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper doorposts of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. They shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, unleavened bread, and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

[30:27] Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire, his head with his legs, and with a pertinence thereof. Ye shall leave nothing of it remain until the morning.

[30:39] And then, and thus shall you eat it with your loins, gird, your shoes, and your feet, your staff, and your hand.

[30:53] You shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord's Passover. Verse 12, for I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast, and against all the gods of Egypt, I will execute judgment.

[31:12] I am the Lord, and the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt, and this day shall be unto you for a memorial.

[31:37] Ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations. Ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever. You know, and in Jesus' day, they were keeping the Passover, and you notice here it says on the tenth day, to take the lamb and to set it apart, and to observe it.

[32:04] You know, do you know that it was on the tenth day when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on that donkey? We call it Palm Sunday, but he rode into Jerusalem.

[32:17] the lamb of God set apart. He was shown to Israel.

[32:30] Yes, they glorified him, and Hosanna in the highest, and all of that, but four days later, they were killing him. Why?

[32:41] Because it had to be that way to fulfill the plan of God. Yes. Yes. Yes. Verse 6, you shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month, and you shall kill it in the evening.

[33:16] You know, the Jewish day, the day started at sunset. The next day started. And so, traditionally, they would always kill the lamb at three o'clock in the afternoon.

[33:39] You know, it was the ninth hour. It was the day started. The daylight hours started at six o'clock in the morning. And so, it was the ninth hour.

[33:54] You know, when Jesus was crucified, he was put on the cross, and it was darkness covered the earth from the sixth hour to the ninth hour.

[34:08] And at the ninth hour, he gave up the ghost. He laid down his life. He laid down his life right at the exact time that the Jews were killing their Passover lambs that year.

[34:29] Right at the exact time Jesus died. well, so in chapter 12, verse 7, and they shall take of the blood and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door posts of the houses wherein they shall eat it.

[35:02] You know, this blood had to be applied. It had to be applied to the door posts of the house, and the family had to stay inside.

[35:16] They had to stay inside. Anyone that went outside was in danger. Anyone, any first born that was on the outside that night, at midnight when the death angel came through, they were killed.

[35:38] You know, and it is the same with us. Jesus shed his blood. He shed his blood. He shed his blood for all men, for all humanity.

[35:52] blood. But unless that blood is applied to your heart, it avails you nothing. It avails you nothing, but it must be applied to your heart.

[36:16] Verse 21, Moses called the elders and he gave them the instructions, instructed them to take the lamb and to kill the lamb.

[36:29] And then verse 22 says, you shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the basin and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

[36:50] For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

[37:13] Verse 26, it shall come to pass when your children shall say unto you what mean ye by this service? Ye shall say, it is the sacrifice of the Lord's Passover who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in the land of Egypt when he smote the Egyptians and delivered our houses.

[37:35] You know, and the people bowed and they worshipped. Why? Because the time of their deliverance had come. And you know, today, today, today, as we confess our sin and we come to the Lord Jesus and we believe in Jesus, we believe that Jesus is the Son of God come in the flesh and we believe that Jesus Christ died for us and we confess that with our mouth that he is the sacrifice of God and that he died for me.

[38:16] We're applying the blood of Jesus to our heart and we're being delivered out of this world and being translated into the kingdom of his dear Son.

[38:32] Well, in verse 40, now the sojourning of the children of Israel who dwelled in the land of Egypt was 430 years and it came to pass at the end of 430 years, even this same day it came to pass that all the hosts of the Lord went out of the land of Egypt.

[38:52] It is a night to be much observed unto the Lord for bringing them out of the land of Egypt. This is that night of the Lord to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.

[39:07] Hallelujah. And when you and I, when we're born again and we're translated out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Jesus, we're delivered from that old kingdom of the devil and we're delivered from his power, it is a night to be remembered.

[39:27] Yes, it is, and it is a day to be remembered and to be testified about. Amen. Amen. Well, let's follow the children of Israel here.

[39:43] So the first night, they left during the night, early morning, they left, they left and they marched out of Egypt. They marched out of Egypt.

[39:56] and the first night they camped at Succoth. The next day they kept going and that evening they encamped at Etham.

[40:11] You know, in Etham, very interesting, Etham was a fortress where Egypt worshipped the sun god. but this is where they camped.

[40:25] And then in chapter 14, now we're at the second, we're at the second camp and now the third.

[40:43] the Lord spake to Moses saying, speak unto the children of Israel that they turn and encamp before Pi-ha-hiroth between Migdal and the sea over against Baal-Ziphon before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

[41:01] You know, God was very specific when he gave them directions, instructions where to camp. And he told them to camp by the sea.

[41:14] You know, and this created a natural trap. There was no escape when Pharaoh came with his army. There was no way to escape.

[41:24] Why? Because, you know what, the sea on one side, mountains on the other, and here they were, Pharaoh behind them. There was no escape.

[41:35] But they were exactly where God told them to go. God had a plan. God had a plan. Well, he says, you know, he told them where to camp, and it is over against Baal Siphon.

[41:54] Baal Siphon was a place where they worshipped the very evil demon. Yes. So the land of Egypt, it had, it was a land totally given to idol worship.

[42:09] it was a land where that had high places and temples to worship demons and all of those things all over. And Israel was right there in the midst of this all.

[42:23] You know, and then when we're brought out of this world, oh, hallelujah. hallelujah.

[42:37] We come to the Lord Jesus and we're born again and we find our way, we find our way. But there's something very, very powerful that happens when we are baptized.

[42:55] And we'll see that next. You know, the Bible tells us, the Bible Corinthians tells us that Israel was baptized under Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

[43:08] You know, I didn't read it, but God was there with them in a pillar of cloud to lead them in the day in a pillar of fire by night.

[43:20] They were baptized under Moses in the cloud and in the sea. And we'll see that next. But, oh, hallelujah. Yes, let's just keep going here.

[43:34] Well, Pharaoh said, why did I leave my slaves go? I let them go and there they're gone. Now, what are we going to do?

[43:45] All these unfinished projects here in the land of Egypt and we have no one to work. We have no one to finish them. So, he talked with his people and he took off.

[44:00] He took 600 chosen chariots and all the chariots of Egypt and the captains and they followed after the children of Israel and what?

[44:13] They caught up with them camping there by the Red Sea. There they were. Ah, look at them. Now we got them. Now we got them.

[44:24] God, isn't that how the devil is? He doesn't give up easy, does he, when we leave his kingdom? No, but let's see what happens.

[44:38] Let's see what happens here to Pharaoh. Well, so the children of Israel, oh my, would have been better for us to stay in Egypt than to die in this wilderness.

[44:52] Here's Pharaoh, he's going to kill us. It would have been better for us to live in Egypt than to be slaves than to be killed out here. But Moses said in verse 13, fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which he shall show to you today.

[45:12] For the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. Well, he told Moses, he said, lift up your rod.

[45:28] Lift it up. Yes. Well, let's just start reading verse 19. The angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them, and the pillar of cloud went from before their face and stood behind them, and it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel, and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these, so that the one came not near the other all night.

[45:58] And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

[46:10] And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea, upon dry ground, and the waters were a wall under them on their right hand, and on their left. You know, this was a tremendous miracle.

[46:25] I know people have tried to explain it. Oh, it was just shallow, and the wind just dried it up. No, it was not just shallow at that time, because it swallowed up Pharaoh and his whole army.

[46:39] But look at this. God dried up the sea, and it wasn't just a little path. No. You know, they tell me, I read somewhere, for Israel to pass through the Red Sea in one night, they had to march 5,000 abreast to get through to the other side by morning.

[47:06] 5,000 abreast. That would almost be two miles, wouldn't it? pretty big area.

[47:24] So the children of Israel, they marched through on dry ground, and the waters were congealed, and there were a wall on their right hand and on their left.

[47:38] And the Egyptians, seeing this, they followed after. They followed after right into the sea. Oh, hallelujah. Oh, hallelujah. The Egyptians pursued and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, his horsemen.

[47:58] And it came to pass that in the morning watch, the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire, and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians, and took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily, so that the Egyptians said, let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

[48:26] And the Lord said unto Moses, stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, upon their horsemen.

[48:38] And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength. When the morning appeared, and the Egyptians fled against it, and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

[48:57] Oh, hallelujah. Hallelujah. Notice what it says here. It says, it came to pass in the morning watch.

[49:10] God looked at the Egyptians, and he started to trouble them, and then he brought the water back over them, and he defeated the army of Egypt in the morning watch.

[49:25] Remember, remember, we are now, we are now the third morning, right? after, after. So in the morning watch, Jesus arose from the dead.

[49:52] Jesus arose, triumphant over death and hell and the grave. It was three days and three nights, and the next morning, Jesus arose out of that tomb, out of that tomb.

[50:12] Oh, hallelujah. What a triumph over the kingdom of darkness. The triumph over Pharaoh, it was a foreshadowing.

[50:27] Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt. Jesus leads his church out of this world, and he sets us free.

[50:41] He breaks every chain. He delivers us, and he sets us free. You know, I want to point out something here.

[50:57] Oh, and Pharaoh, he said, oh, our slaves have fled. They left during the night.

[51:10] Yes, and we let them go. Our slaves, we must go and bring them back. They are our slaves, and we will go and we will bring them back.

[51:23] There's no way we can allow this. Pharaoh and his hosts, they went into the Red Sea, and they were drowned.

[51:39] After the Red Sea, there was no more question whether the children of Israel belonged to Pharaoh or if they belonged to God.

[51:56] Pharaoh was destroyed. Pharaoh was cut off. The question of ownership was answered. You know, Pharaoh said, they belong to me.

[52:09] They are our slaves, and I'm going to go bring them back. But God. But God. And today, let me say, when a believer in the Lord Jesus is baptized, that question of ownership is answered.

[52:34] When you, when you as a believer are baptized, you vow that you now, you leave behind this world, you leave behind Egypt, you leave it behind, and you renounce this world, and now you belong to the Lord Jesus.

[52:58] That question of ownership is answered in the waters of baptism. Israel was baptized under Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and we are baptized in the water as a sign showing that we have a good conscience, that we have a clear conscience, that we have, we have this new life in us.

[53:27] We have said no to self, sin, and the devil. We renounced it now, and now we belong to Jesus, and we'll follow him the rest of our days.

[53:41] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Let's read a couple more verses here. Verse 30.

[53:55] Thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the seashore, and Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians, and the people feared the Lord and believed the Lord and his servant Moses.

[54:22] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You know, what an awesome victory.

[54:41] But it is not unlike the victory when we are translated out of the kingdom of darkness darkness into the kingdom of Jesus Christ.

[54:54] That is an awesome victory. You know, and just like Israel, they faced many battles in the years ahead.

[55:09] Many trials and temptations. And it is so with us in the Christian life. It's not a bed of roses. It's not necessarily always an easy life.

[55:25] But there is always a path to victory. We can overcome in whatever situation we find ourselves in.

[55:36] They overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony. They loved not their lives unto the death. The blood of Jesus defeated the devil.

[55:51] Just like the blood saved the children of Israel on the Passover, the blood of Jesus saves us, and the blood of Jesus defeats our enemy.

[56:02] Yes, we have victory through the blood of Jesus. Are we living in that victory? Is it ours?

[56:15] Is that our experience? You know, have we truly, truly been born again? Has everything truly become new?

[56:27] Have those old things of the old life have they passed away? Or are we still living in a religious form? You know, Nicodemus, he came to Jesus and he acknowledged that he's a teacher from God.

[56:47] You know, I believe Nicodemus was enlightened. And we see that in our day. People become enlightened. But so many times they stop short of giving their all and being born again.

[57:06] You know, being enlightened is not being a Christian. It's more knowledge. More knowledge. But to allow the blood of Jesus to come and to cleanse us, to lay down our life.

[57:25] Oh, that he can give us that new life. Yes, that new life. You know, I just love this.

[57:38] In the morning watch. In the morning watch, the Lord looked. And in the morning watch, when our Lord was there in that tomb, in the morning watch, the angel came and he rolled away the stone and what?

[57:54] The Lord was no longer there. Hallelujah. Oh, yes. Oh, yes. In the morning watch, they saw the Egyptians destroyed.

[58:10] And then God commanded them to keep that feast of first fruits. Jesus is the first fruits of them that slept.

[58:23] He fulfilled that also. Yes. Because Jesus arose from the dead, you and I will someday rise from the dead.

[58:34] Yes. Though we die, we will arise again. We will arise again and live forever with our Lord Jesus.

[58:45] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Let's turn to Colossians.

[59:01] Let's look at Colossians yet a little bit in closing here. You know, it was only by the blood that Israel was saved on that Passover night.

[59:17] And it is only by the blood of Jesus that we can be saved from a life of sin. Now in Colossians. Colossians 1.13.

[59:33] Who has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear son in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

[59:48] You know, he forgives our sins. You know, Jesus was that perfect Passover lamb. And when he died, he shed his blood, the perfect lamb of God.

[60:01] That brought an end to the need of bringing a lamb every year. Why? Because finally, the one that those lambs pointed to had come.

[60:15] And he was slain. On Passover day, he gave his life at three o'clock in the afternoon, just like those lambs every year.

[60:27] Every year. Every year. The perfect lamb of God. The spotless, sinless son of God. He came to earth as a human being.

[60:42] He lived here as a man, a sinless life. And then he laid down his life and shed his blood to be the perfect sacrifice that we can again have fellowship with God almighty.

[61:03] Oh, hallelujah. Yeah. In chapter 2, verse 10, ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power, in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ, buried with him in baptism.

[61:35] You know, when we are baptized as a believer, we say, yes, yes, Lord Jesus, I believe that you shed your blood for me and that it saves me and cleanses me from all sin.

[61:57] And I become a new creation in Christ Jesus. That old body of sins is taken off.

[62:07] We're buried with him in baptism. And then we rise again. We're in also, you are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised him from the dead.

[62:24] Hallelujah. Buried with him. Buried with him in baptism. And then we rise again in newness of life.

[62:35] You know, this is what happened to our sister. And today we baptize her to show this testimony.

[62:47] You know, this testimony, it's not only for us that are here today, but it is also a testimony to the principalities and the powers of darkness.

[62:59] The powers, the principalities and powers of darkness and the angelic hosts. They will all be watching. Yes, they will be watching. As here is another one.

[63:12] Another one committing her life to the Lord Jesus. Hallelujah. We are risen again through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised him from the dead.

[63:30] You know, the same spirit that raised up Christ from the dead. He now lives in us and he gives us his new life. He gives us his new power.

[63:42] He gives us power to live the Christian life. He gives us power to overcome. Oh, hallelujah. But here he's talking about Jesus.

[63:52] Jesus. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us.

[64:03] And he took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

[64:21] Remember in the morning watch, God looked back and he troubled the host of the Egyptians. And he brought the water back and he drowned them.

[64:31] And Israel saw their enemies dead upon the seashore. And in the morning watch, our Lord came forth out of the tomb.

[64:42] Hallelujah. Oh, yes. Hallelujah. Having spoiled principalities and powers, having disarmed, he disarmed those principalities and powers.

[64:57] He disarmed them. Oh, they can roar like a lion. They can come after you and try to deceive you. They can lie to you. That's what they do all the time, is they come with their lies.

[65:11] But Jesus has defeated them. And he has disarmed them. That we can overcome them by the blood of the lion.

[65:23] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Yes. Yes. He overcame. And now we can overcome. As we live this new life, this new life in Christ, we are buried with him in baptism.

[65:41] And we are risen again. That's what baptism signifies, is rising again. Yes. Being buried with him and rising again.

[65:52] Out of that grave. Now to live. Now to live for our Lord Jesus. Now belonging to him.

[66:04] Yes. Only by the blood of Jesus can we be delivered. It took blood to deliver Israel.

[66:14] It takes the blood of Jesus to deliver humanity today. The blood needs to be applied to your heart.

[66:26] If the blood of Jesus has not been applied to your heart. Today is the day of salvation. Today.

[66:37] Today is the day of salvation. Don't let it go another day. Not one more. You know, in Romans 10. Let me just read this.

[66:57] Verse 9. Well, verse 8 says, The word of faith. It is. It's even in. It's in our mouth and in our heart. This word of faith.

[67:08] It's we're close. You know, how are you close today? You know, I believe if. You know, if anyone is here that's not born again. I believe you're close. Let today be the day.

[67:21] When you clinch it. When you make it yours. Yes. That if thou shall confess with thy mouth. Thou shalt be saved.

[67:40] For with the heart. Man believeth unto righteousness. And with the mouth confession is made. Unto salvation. You know.

[67:53] When we believe in our heart. We need to speak it forth. We need to speak it forth. Notice. What it says here.

[68:06] It says confess with your mouth. And believe in your heart. You know, I believe the two go together. You can say you believe.

[68:19] You can think you believe. But until you speak it forth. We really don't know.

[68:31] And it's not real. But when you confess with your mouth. You're applying the blood of Jesus. And it comes.

[68:42] And it washes you. And it cleanses you. You know, if you really believe. If you really believe.

[68:54] You will come. And give your heart and life to him. Yes. It is only. By this blood.

[69:06] That we are born again. By the. By the spirit of God. You know. It does that supernatural work. Of bringing that.

[69:17] Seed of Christ. Into our hearts. And. Birthing us. A new creation. In Christ Jesus. Hallelujah.

[69:31] What a wonderful. Wonderful. Savior. Who gave his life. He endured such. Contradiction of sinners.

[69:42] Against. Himself. For us. For humanity. That we. Can be saved. Let's pray. Heavenly Father.

[69:54] Thank you. For loving this world. So much. That you gave your only. Begotten son. That if we believe in him.

[70:06] We can be saved. Thank you Jesus. For coming. Lord. I pray. That today. There will not be one.

[70:17] Soul here. That has reached. The age of accountability. That is yet. Struggling. In their sin. But will come. And give the heart.

[70:28] Life to you. And be born again. And become a new. Creation. In Christ Jesus. Lord. Lord. Might today.

[70:40] Be the day. We pray in Jesus name. Amen.
