[0:00] May we see you. Have you been changed? Glory to God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Are we a transformed people today?
[0:15] Amen. That is why Jesus came. That is his plan. That is his will. And if we, oh, hallelujah.
[0:26] Is that a reality in our hearts? Turn to James chapter 5. You know, a few weeks back I started, I said, I want to preach several messages on faith.
[0:44] And I preached one and then Aaron came. And he preached three messages on faith. And I'm not saying that I won't do more.
[1:00] But today, you know, we're planning, we're planning to have an anointing service. Today I want to talk about that.
[1:11] I want to talk about healing. And, you know, in our day, there's many people that will downplay something like this.
[1:29] In some churches, they won't anoint people till they're on their deathbed. And then it's kind of like an anointing to burial. I believe that there is healing provided in our salvation.
[1:50] You know, Aaron, Aaron, I want to repeat some, a few phrases that he, that he left with us last week.
[2:01] Knowing his love, knowing Jesus' love will bring an increase of faith. Are we rooted and grounded in the love of Jesus?
[2:14] All human logic is silenced before this faith. All human logic, all human reasoning, all the arguments against faith.
[2:32] They're silenced. They're silenced by this faith. Faith will always be limited when we look elsewhere for help and answers.
[2:52] And then, remember, remember the one that Aaron said.
[3:04] He said, you can trust the one who died for you. We can trust the one who died for us. Remember, a few weeks back, I gave you a definition for that word, trust.
[3:21] It was, you can, you can give something, you can commit something to somebody without fearing consequences of that decision.
[3:36] That is the definition, or one of the definitions for the word trust. If we will trust our Lord, then we can have faith to receive from him.
[4:02] Remember the leper. Remember, Jesus asked him if he believes that he could heal him, that he would heal him. And the answer was, you can, but I don't know if you will, if you want to.
[4:23] Jesus told him, I want to. And he healed him. So today, the word I want to bring to you today is, Jesus wants to heal you.
[4:41] Let's start here in James chapter 5, verse 13. Confess your faults one to another.
[5:17] Here we have instructions in what to do when someone is sick.
[5:34] And, you know, you can, if you can ask, if you would ask every professing Christian what he thinks, if he believes that God would heal him.
[5:50] You know, I think one of the biggest problems is that people don't know. People don't know if they can come to God in faith and believe that he will heal them.
[6:05] You know, and with that in mind, it's no wonder if people don't get healed. The first chapter of James, it says, He says, knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
[6:20] Verse 4, But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
[6:31] If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally, and abradeth not, and it shall be given him. Now, verse 6, Let him ask in faith nothing wavering, for he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, driven with the wind and tossed.
[6:50] Let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. You know, if we don't know, or if we're not sure about something, then how can we come in faith?
[7:13] How can we pray the prayer of faith, if we're not sure that it's God's will to bring healing to these physical bodies? That's what I want to look at this morning.
[7:26] And as we go through this, remember these verses in James 5, and I just want to point out two phrases yet before we continue on.
[7:43] You know, he says here, Let the sick, let him call for the elders, and they should pray over him anointing, anointing them with oil.
[8:00] And then it says, The prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up. You know, it's not the oil that's doing the healing.
[8:13] It's not the person that's doing the healing. It's not me that's healing you. But it's God that is healing you. It's the power of God.
[8:25] And it is him that is doing the healing. But he asks us to pray in faith, believing. Now, what basis do we have to come to God for healing?
[8:40] And we'll go a long ways. We'll get a verse in Acts, and we'll talk about Genesis and Exodus and all of that.
[8:55] But in Acts chapter 10, And verse 38, This is how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.
[9:17] For God was with him. Here he's telling them, Jesus, this same Jesus that you rejected, the one that you crucified, and you hung him on a tree, this Jesus, God anointed him.
[9:38] And he went throughout the land, doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil. And how did he do that?
[9:49] God was with him. God had anointed Jesus. That is how Jesus had the power and the authority to do that.
[10:03] You know, 1 John tells us that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. He came to destroy the works of the devil.
[10:14] Here in Acts, it says that he went about healing all that were oppressed. Of the devil. Those that were oppressed of the devil.
[10:26] He's talking about physical sicknesses and infirmities. And Jesus healed them because those he recognized, those were from the devil.
[10:39] They were the works of darkness that had brought this upon them. Hebrews chapter 2. Hebrews chapter 2 and verse 14.
[10:55] Hebrews chapter 2 and verse 14. Hebrews chapter 2 and verse 14. For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
[11:28] Jesus, partook of flesh and blood. He became, he came in a human form just like us. He was subject to like passions like we are.
[11:43] But he came in a human body. It says, he took part of the same.
[11:55] He became, he had a body like we do, that through death, he might destroy him that had the power of death.
[12:05] That is, the devil. Jesus, by giving his life for us, he was destroying the power of the devil.
[12:16] And to deliver them, to deliver the human race, that was always living in fear of death. It says, to deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
[12:36] You know, if you're afraid to die, then you're in bondage. But if you're living for Jesus, and you belong to him, like the Apostle Paul said, whose I am and who I serve.
[12:54] He was talking about Jesus. He was saying, I belong to Jesus, and I serve him. And if we belong to him in the same way, then we can trust him.
[13:08] We can trust him with our life. We can trust him with our body. We trust him for, for eternal life. We trust him for the saving of the soul.
[13:20] You can trust the one who died for you. You can trust him. Yes. You know, in Romans, Romans, it talks about Adam and how the whole world fell into sin because of Adam, because of his transgression.
[13:45] But the second Adam, Jesus Christ, he, he redeems us from that curse. He redeems us from, from sin and death.
[13:58] You know, when, in the Garden of Eden, before, before Adam sinned, it was a perfect world. There was no sickness.
[14:09] There was no death. Everything was living perpetually. Naturally. But God had said, if you, if you eat of the fruit of, of that tree, the tree of knowledge of good and evil, you will die.
[14:26] You will die. Well, the serpent came and he said, is that really what God said? How could that be? You know, and he's still saying that, is that, is that really what God said?
[14:41] Is that really, so? And he just, you know, what's wrong with that? And he just continually brings that question to humanity. But when they partook of that fruit, they died spiritually.
[14:57] That, that, that communion they had with God was cut off. And, you know, they didn't die physically immediately. But, the process of death entered the world.
[15:10] and, and sickness entered. Romans 5, 12, wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned.
[15:27] In verse 17, if by one man's offense death reigned by one, much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
[15:46] Yes. Therefore, as by the offense of one, judgment came upon all men to condemnation, even so, by the righteousness of one, the free gift came upon all men under justification of life.
[16:05] Jesus came to reverse what happened there in the Garden of Eden. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.
[16:17] Jesus came to set us free. He came to bring deliverance to the human race. That's what he came for. And he did not fail in what he came for.
[16:33] Now I want to look at Israel and turn to Exodus 15. We'll get a few verses here in the Old Testament concerning Israel.
[16:48] Exodus 15 and verse 26. And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God and wilt do that which is right in his sight and wilt give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee which I have brought upon the Egyptians for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
[17:25] Here God was instructing Israel people. And he did not tell them that because you're my people I'm going to heal you.
[17:36] He said, If you will diligently hearken to the voice of God and if you will do what is right in the sight of God, if you will and you give ear to his commandments, you know, give ear, it's not just hearing but it is listening and then obeying.
[18:11] If you will and if you will keep all his statutes then I will put none of these diseases upon you and he says, I am the Lord that healeth thee.
[18:30] I am the Lord that healeth thee. I will protect you. I will keep you. I will give you health. If you get sick, I will heal you.
[18:42] That was God's word to his people, the children of Israel. So there was, what do we have?
[18:52] We have a list of four things. if you will diligently hearken, if you will do right in the sight of God, if you will give ear to God's commandments, and if you keep all his statutes, then God said he will heal them.
[19:14] Now, and we're no way going to cover everything that we could, but in Deuteronomy chapter 7, I'll read a couple verses here.
[19:27] In Deuteronomy 7 and verse 9, Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations, and he repayeth them that hate him to their face to destroy them.
[19:56] He will not be slack to him that hateth him. He will repay him to his face. You know, God, God, you can call it a threat or you can call it a promise or whatever it is, but he reminds his enemies that they will reap what they sow.
[20:18] That's what he's saying here. But he will, he's a faithful God, and he will keep covenant and mercy to those that love him. Now in verse 15, and the Lord will take away from thee all sickness and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt which thou knowest upon thee, but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.
[20:53] God promising to keep them and, and, you know, and somewhere, I don't know if it's in my notes even to read it, but, but God said those diseases from Egypt which you fear.
[21:11] you know, there were diseases in Egypt while Israel lived there, that the Egyptians were, were stricken with, that the children of Israel looked at in horror and they were afraid of it.
[21:27] God said, if you will walk before me and if you will be my people and love me and keep my commandments, I will protect you from all of that.
[21:51] You know, it was God's will to have his people in health in the old covenant. Now, I want to read in Deuteronomy 28.
[22:07] You know, here we have in these chapters, we have the blessings for obedience and then we have the curse for disobedience and we'll not read through that.
[22:22] I just want to pick out a couple verses that mention sickness and so on.
[22:32] So, in chapter 28, read verse 22. And the Lord shall smite thee and this was the curse for disobedience, for drifting away from God and not serving him, turning to idols and so on.
[22:54] the Lord will smite thee with a consumption and with a fever and with an inflammation and with an extreme burning and with the sword and with blasting and with mildew and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
[23:12] And part of the curse also, of course, was that the enemy will overtake them and destroy them and so on. In verse 58, 58 to 61, if thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, the Lord thy God, then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed even great plagues, and of long continuance and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
[24:00] Moreover, he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt which thou wast afraid of, and they shall cleave unto thee.
[24:12] Also, every sickness and every plague which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee until thou be destroyed.
[24:24] So here, we see plainly that sickness was part of the curse that would come upon them for disobedience.
[24:42] God just laid it out that way. So I believe that it was God's will that the people live in health. It was God's will that the people live in obedience and worship him and walk with him in full communion with him.
[25:04] And if they did that, he promised them health. You know, and I'm reminded, you know, that there's a few verses.
[25:18] I'm not even sure where they're at right now. but it talks about Amalek and how Amalek came along and, you know, the people, they were going through the wilderness and the way was hard and the way was tough and some lagged behind and some murmured and complained and there were some weak and Amalek came and he didn't come and attack the army of Israel.
[25:51] No, but he came from behind and he killed some of those that were lagging behind, some of those that were weak, some of those that were lagging behind and they weren't keeping up with the rest.
[26:07] And Amalek killed some. You know, and Amalek and it I mean, there's a lot in that. But Amalek is a type of the flesh, a type of the old man.
[26:24] And he will bring death every time you allow him to have his way. Physical healing is part of destroying the works of the devil.
[26:40] you know, the children of Israel, if they gave in, if they gave in to the voices of the enemy, if they gave in and they did, and you can see, you know, if you read through the Old Testament, you will see how they turned their back on God and how God destroyed them.
[27:10] Those curses came true in the lives of the children of Israel. Isaiah 53, the wonderful prophecy of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
[27:33] Isaiah 53, and we'll just take a couple verses out of here. He was despised and rejected, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
[27:48] Verse 4, Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted.
[27:59] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.
[28:12] All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned everyone to his own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
[28:24] Verse 5, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was on him, and with his stripes we are healed, he paid for our healing by his stripes.
[28:42] We've all gone our own way, we've all rebelled against him, we've all gone our own way, that's the definition of iniquity, is going our own way.
[28:58] But in verse 4, he has borne our griefs, that word griefs, means sicknesses, and he's carried our sorrows, it means pains, he carried that, he took it, he paid for that, yes, that we can live a life free unto our God.
[29:24] You know, Peter says, Jesus, maybe I'll read it because I get that one verse out of 1 Peter 2, verse 24, talking about Jesus, says, who his own self bear our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness, by whose stripes ye were healed.
[30:02] Ye were as sheep going astray, but are now returned unto the shepherd and bishop of your souls. You know, it's a paraphrase of Isaiah 53 that Peter wrote here.
[30:18] By whose stripes ye were healed. Psalm 103. You know, we all love this psalm, we quote it, but do we believe it?
[30:35] Psalm 103, and we'll just read the first five verses here. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
[30:47] Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgiveth all thy iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases, who redeemeth thy life from destruction, who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies, who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles.
[31:15] He tells us here, he says, forget not all his benefits. You know, many people today, they want to forget some of the benefits.
[31:29] They want to forget some of the benefits that Jesus has purchased for us, that he is providing for us, and he lists some here.
[31:40] He lists these benefits. He forgives all our iniquities. He heals all our diseases. He redeems our life from destruction. You know, we don't even know how many times that the angel of the Lord protects us from some disaster, from some calamity.
[32:07] We serve such a wonderful Savior. You can trust the one who died for you.
[32:19] You can trust him. You can trust him with your life. You can trust him with your future. You can trust him with everything. Yes.
[32:35] In Proverbs, you know, there's so much practical instruction in the word of God. And in Proverbs, in chapter three, my son, forget not my law, but let thine heart keep my commandments, for length of days and long life and peace shall they add to thee.
[33:08] length of days, long life and peace. If we keep his commandments, if we serve our Lord Jesus because he loved us and gave himself for us.
[33:28] Let not mercy and truth forsake thee. Bind them about thy neck. Write them upon the table of thine heart. So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
[33:44] Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.
[33:58] You know, if we want him to lead us, then we need to put him first in our life. We need to give him his rightful place. Or he cannot lead us.
[34:11] He says, trust in the Lord with all your heart. You know, trust him with all your heart. Don't hold back anything. Don't hold back any, any, don't make anything conditional.
[34:26] But trust in him. Trust in him with all your heart. Be not wise in thine own eyes.
[34:37] fear the Lord and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel and marrow to thy bones. That is such a promise for our physical well-being.
[34:53] Honor the Lord with thy substance and with the firstfruits of all thine increase. So shall thy barns be filled with plenty and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
[35:07] Honor the Lord with your substance. Give him of the firstfruits of your increase. You know, giving to God, he will bless you.
[35:22] You know, we don't give because he will bless us. But if we give out of a willing heart, he will bless us. yes, in chapter four, verse 20.
[35:44] My son, attend to my words. Incline thine ear unto my sayings. You know, and I believe we can take these instructions.
[35:58] We can take them and we can apply them to our own life. We need to take heed to what he's saying here. He says, attend to my words.
[36:12] Attend to the word of God. Attend to this word. You know, this word, it will save us if we will attend to it and we will live by it.
[36:23] If we will give ourselves to keeping this word and walking as this word teaches. Yes, if we will.
[36:36] My son, attend to my words. Incline thine ear to my sayings. You know, give attention.
[36:48] Give attention to the word of God. Incline thine ear. You know, how many times do we hear the word, but it doesn't take root in our hearts.
[36:59] How many times do we read the word, but, you know, after we're done reading a chapter, what did I read? He says, if we give attention to this word, and if we will incline our ear to hear this word, then what?
[37:22] Well, he goes on, he says, don't let this word depart from your eyes and keep it in the midst of your heart. David said, thy word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against thee.
[37:41] The word of God, it needs to be hidden in our heart. It needs to be an integral part of our life. It needs to be the rule of our life, the final authority in our life.
[38:01] Notice verse 22, they, for they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
[38:13] This word of God, if we find this word, and we believe and we accept this word, what is it?
[38:25] It is health to our flesh. It is life. It is life. It is eternal life, but it is also physical life.
[38:39] He says, health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.
[38:52] You know, as we, as we, you know, when we need healing, when we come to God, and we have a physical need, you know, we, we have to attend to the word.
[39:11] We have to, on purpose, listen to this word, and we need to block out the voices of doubt.
[39:22] We need to block out the voices that would bring unbelief, and we'll look at some of that yet. But it is so important that we hear this word, and that we believe this word.
[39:42] You know, if we doubt the word of God, it will not change us, it will not work in us effectively. We need to move on.
[39:59] What are we listening to? what are we listening to? What are we reading? You know, there's a verse, Proverbs 19, 27, says, Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causes thee to err from the words of knowledge.
[40:27] Those words of unbelief, those words that cause you to err, those words that cause you to lose faith.
[40:40] Stop listening to those voices, but listen to this word. Listen to the word of God. What are we listening to?
[40:50] You can build your life, you can build your hope and future entirely on the Lord and on his word. oh, hallelujah.
[41:02] Yes. Yes. You know, Jesus in Matthew 9 tells us how Jesus had compassion on the multitude and he healed all that were sick.
[41:16] He healed them all. Yes, he had compassion. He looked out at the multitude and he had compassion on the multitude. and then and then he sent out the disciples and he gave them power over sickness and over disease.
[41:34] He said, he said, heal the sick, raise the dead freely you have received, freely give. You know, let me ask you, what have we received? Have we received the Holy Ghost?
[41:46] Have we received the life of God? Have we received? You know, we want to look at Acts and want to look a little bit at the early church. but just keep this in mind as we do that.
[42:01] Jesus said, freely you have received, freely give. We cannot give anything that we have not received. And the only thing, the only place, the only person we can receive from that we have life to give is from Jesus.
[42:23] Freely you have received. freely give. Have we? Have we? Have we? All things are possible to him that believeth.
[42:39] Let's turn to Mark chapter 5. here we have the story of Jairus and he came to Jesus.
[42:52] He came to Jesus and he said, he said, my little daughter lieth at the point of death. I pray thee, come and lay the hands on her that she may be healed and she shall live.
[43:04] And Jesus went with him. Jesus started going with him. but you know the story how this woman that had the issue of blood for 12 years, she came and she touched the hem of Jesus' garment and she was healed.
[43:21] And so Jesus stopped. He was delayed now. And he talked with her and so on. And so before Jesus got there, in verse 35, verse 35 says, while he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house, certain which said, thy daughter is dead, why troublest thou the master any further?
[43:50] Jairus, your daughter is dead, she's gone, it's too late, it's too late. Jesus said, be not afraid, only believe.
[44:08] You know, Jairus here, he had a choice to make. You think back of the verses that we read in Proverbs about listening to the voices.
[44:24] You know, we need to listen to the voice of Jesus, not listen to the voices that bring doubt. The people came and they told him, your daughter is dead, it's too late, don't trouble the master.
[44:38] But Jesus said, don't be afraid, only believe. You know, many times, many times, we're at the same place.
[44:49] There's voices telling us, bringing unbelief, saying, Jesus won't heal this, Jesus can't heal this, and whatever they say.
[45:05] But listen to the voice of Jesus and block those other voices out. Jesus said that day, he said, be not afraid, only believe.
[45:17] And he took Peter, James, and John in with him. Verse 38, he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept, and wailed greatly.
[45:33] And when he was come in, he saith unto them, why make ye this adieu, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. They laughed him to scorn, but when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entered in where the damsel was lying.
[45:51] And he took the damsel by the hand, and saith unto her, Talitha komai, which is being interpreted, damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And she stood up, and she walked, and he said, bring her food.
[46:07] Yes, hallelujah. They were astonished with a great astonishment. Hallelujah. Our Lord and Savior, he's still the same.
[46:21] He's still the same. Hallelujah. In Mark chapter 6, here we have Jesus. He went to his own community.
[46:33] You know, Jesus, out and about, out in the other parts of the country, he healed all those that were oppressed of the devil. He healed their diseases, and he delivered them, and all of that.
[46:47] But he came to his own hometown, and what happened? Well, people began to ask questions. We know who this guy is.
[47:00] We know who he is. Let's read verse 2. When the Sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue.
[47:12] Many hearing him were astonished, saying, from whence hath this man these things, and what wisdom is this, which he giveth unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands.
[47:29] Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James and Joses, and of Judah and Simon, and are not his sisters here with us?
[47:42] And they were offended at him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
[47:56] And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marveled because of their unbelief.
[48:08] Jesus marveled at their unbelief, and he could not do a lot of miracles there. Why? Because of their unbelief. And how did this start?
[48:19] They brought in human reasoning, and so many times in our day, we bring in human reasoning, and it steals faith. Notice what they were saying here.
[48:31] Well, we know who you are. We know your family. We know your brothers. We know your mother. We know who you are. And how could you come and teach us and do miracles here?
[48:46] And so, with their human reasoning, they just explained it away, and Jesus himself, the Son of God, could not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
[49:02] You know, you know, I believe that that is one of the biggest problems in our day, is just simply unbelief, failing to believe that Jesus wants to heal.
[49:16] If we come to God, we must believe that He is, and that He's a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. We must believe Him.
[49:29] we must black out the voices of unbelief and keep our focus on Jesus and on His Word. Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causes us to err from the words of knowledge.
[49:51] Yes. In Mark 16, what does it say there? You all know that verse. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, he that believeth not shall be damned, and these signs shall follow them that believe.
[50:11] In my name shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues, they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them.
[50:23] They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. You know, humanity has figured out all kinds of ways to explain away the word of God.
[50:40] Let us believe the word of God and let's focus on it today. In Acts, you know, maybe, let's go to Acts.
[50:56] Acts chapter 4. Here we have the apostles. Peter, well, they laid hands.
[51:09] Well, let's see. So first they healed a man, and then the Jews laid hands on the apostles, and they took him in.
[51:20] And Peter, he was full of the Holy Ghost, and he answered them that day. he said, be it known unto you all, in verse 10, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doeth this man stand here before you whole.
[51:45] This is the stone which was set at naught of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
[52:02] Just think of the boldness of Peter here as they were brought before the council, and they were demanded to give an account as of why they were healing people and preaching to them.
[52:18] Now let's go on toward the end of the chapter here. you know, they commanded them, and they threatened them that they shouldn't teach anymore in the name of Jesus.
[52:35] And then they let them go. And so they went to their own company, they went back to the church, and they told them, they reported all the things that the chief priests and the elders had said, and when the church heard this in verse 24, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord and said, Lord, thou art God, which has made heaven and earth and the sea and all that in them is.
[53:10] Who by the mouth of thy servant David has said, why did the heathen rage and the people imagine vain things? And we'll skip down, let's, verse 29, and now, Lord, behold their threatenings, behold their threatenings.
[53:28] Now here we are, Lord, and they're threatening us. You behold their threatenings and grant unto thy servants that with all boldness they may speak thy word by stretching forth thine hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
[53:54] And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they speak the word of God with boldness.
[54:07] And the multitude of them that believed were a one heart and a one soul. Verse 33, with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
[54:24] You know, here, the apostles, they were threatened. They were threatened, and then they went back to the church, and they didn't try to figure out how they could hide from the chief priest, how they could maybe just reach a few people at night, and just kind of stay under the radar and out of the way, you know.
[54:49] No, but they prayed for boldness. They prayed for boldness that the Lord, the Lord would work through them, and they could speak boldly the word of the Lord.
[55:02] And they say, they prayed that with all boldness they would speak thy word, and by stretching forth thine hand to heel, and signs and wonders be done by the name of thy holy child, Jesus.
[55:21] Great boldness. And then what happened? The Holy Ghost came and fell upon them again, and filled them all again with the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. And the place was shaken.
[55:35] They were all filled with the Holy Ghost and with boldness. You know, you know, I believe that's one of our problems today. Is there so few men that are sold out to the Lord Jesus and are full of the Holy Ghost?
[55:51] You know, that which we have received freely give, have we received the Holy Ghost? Are we full of the Holy Ghost? If we're full of the Holy Ghost, then we have within us the answer for every need.
[56:07] Because He is the answer for whatever the need is. With great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
[56:27] And great grace was upon them all. Oh, that great grace would be upon us all. Oh, honey. great grace.
[56:40] The grace of our Lord Jesus. You know, we're satisfied with so little. Oh, let us, let us seek our Lord.
[56:53] That great grace can be upon us. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Yes. Yes. You can reckon on God's faithfulness.
[57:11] You can depend on His faithfulness. If we believe, we will receive. Amen. Jesus said in John 11, He said, if thou wouldst believe, thou shouldst see the glory of God.
[57:27] Yes. Now, let's get a couple of verses here in John. In John 14. In John 14, Jesus said, verily, verily, I say unto you, in verse 12, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto my Father.
[57:55] You know, Jesus said some amazing things, and they were not just empty words, but Jesus desires to fulfill his word in you today, in us every day.
[58:11] Yes, and whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.
[58:25] You know, Jesus said that, but he expects us to be full of the Holy Ghost, and to be walking in that way, that we will know the will of the Father, that we will know his will, and as we come to him, and we ask, and he answers, the name of the Father, the name of Jesus will be glorified.
[58:49] Hallelujah. Oh, yes. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. In chapter 16, you know, there's so many more we could read, but we just read a couple verses here.
[59:08] John 16, 23. In that day you shall ask me nothing verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever you shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
[59:21] Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name, ask and ye shall receive that your joy may be full. You know, in chapter 15, what does it say?
[59:34] Herein is my Father glorified that ye bear much fruit. Him answering our prayers brings glory to the Father.
[59:45] Yes, it brings glory to the Father. You know, we point at, you know, at people that, that are maybe saying they're healing people, but they take the glory to themselves.
[60:01] God, God will withdraw from that. God must receive the glory. He is the one that heals. Yes, we anoint with oil in obedience and we pray the prayer of faith.
[60:18] We, we pray to God asking for healing in faith, but he is the one that touches and heals. Greater works than these shall ye do.
[60:39] Yes, knowing his love will bring an increase of faith. All human logic is silenced before this faith.
[60:57] Jesus said to the leper, I want to. I want to heal you. I want to heal you. Hallelujah.
[61:08] Hallelujah. It was God's will to heal in the old covenant. It was God's will to heal when Jesus was healed.
[61:21] It was God's will to heal in the early church. And, and I believe it is God's will to heal today.
[61:32] And he's given us instructions in James chapter 5 in what to do when we have a need. You know, John Wesley made a statement.
[61:46] He said that this, the anointing with oil from James 5, that was the way that God healed in the church until it was lost through unbelief.
[62:05] John Wesley said that. In 1 Corinthians 12, we have the gifts of the Spirit and the gifts of healing is one of those.
[62:18] The gifts of healing is a gift of the Holy Ghost that he gives to his church. Yes. Let's turn again to James chapter 5.
[62:32] is is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you?
[62:44] Let him call for the elders of the church. Let them pray over him anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise him up.
[62:57] And if he have committed sins they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that ye may be healed.
[63:11] The factual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months and he prayed again and the heaven gave rain and the earth brought forth her fruit.
[63:37] Brethren if any of you do err from the truth and one convert him let him know that he which convert the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death and shall the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much and he refers back to Elijah and how he prayed how he prayed God God spoke to him and directed him to pray that it would not rain that it would not rain and three and a half years later God told him he said go and show yourself to Ahab I'm going to send rain you know and y'all know the story y'all know the story how they're on Mount Carmel and all of that and then after after all of that all of that display of supernatural power and strength and the power of
[64:44] God Elijah got down and he prayed for rain and he prayed for rain and he sent his servant you go up and you look toward the sea and you look is there any rain coming is there any rain coming he came back no I don't see anything no I don't see anything the seventh time he came back he said I see a little cloud the size of a man and Elijah said quick run we gotta get out of here it's gonna rain we gotta go quick before it gets too muddy a little cloud the size of a man first you know the others had all left for home already it says the
[65:56] Bible says the prophet he girded up his loins and he ran he pulled his garment up around about him so he could run and he beat Ahab the town with a chariot and the rain came near Elijah he was a man subject to like passions as we are you know God's not looking for a super human being to pray the prayer for him he's just looking for men that will in him pray believing God believing that God still stands by his way believing that God will still answer believing that
[66:58] God can still do miracles believing that God still has power over sickness believing that God is still destroying the works of the devil today as we pray we look to Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith we look to Jesus who came he loved us so much that he came and he gave his life for us he is the one we look to the one who went about doing good the one that went about healing all that were oppressed of the devil we look to him today for healing power yes it says here and the
[68:00] Lord shall raise him up you know many times I hear people saying well but how do we know it's the Lord's will you know when I read this when I read this I my answer is I will believe it's the Lord's will to heal unless he reveals otherwise that is how I look at I will pray for anyone that comes that asks to be prayed for I won't first ask the Lord is it your will to heal this person I believe that unless he reveals otherwise I need to take this and in obedience
[69:03] I will pray you know he is the one that heals if he chooses not to he doesn't but it says here the prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord will raise him up and I want to stand in that let's stand for prayer Lord we thank you for your word Lord we thank you Lord that you have loved us with an everlasting love Lord I thank you that we can trust you the one who gave your life for us Lord help us to trust you with our life help us
[70:10] Lord to give our lives to you Lord to trust you for all of life to trust you with our future to trust you with our destiny to trust you with what you will do with us help us Lord to walk in faith not wavering not drawing back but to walk in faith knowing that you will honor your word and you will fulfill your word Lord today Lord we trust in you today we give ourselves into your hands Lord Lord Lord help us Lord that we will each one of us will
[71:12] Lord cast ourselves upon you Lord just surrendering our all just giving our all a living sacrifice to you and Lord allowing you to take us and to do with us as you desire and Lord help us Lord to trust you in this area of physical healing we commit this to you we pray in Jesus name amen you may receive time
