[0:00] In the name of Jesus this morning, it's good to be here, it's good to be home again. It was good to be in Pennsylvania last weekend, of course, but it's always good to come home again.
[0:19] Turn to 2 Timothy chapter 1. 2 Timothy chapter 1. And there's a little phrase here that I want this morning, or a few.
[0:32] But I want to start reading in verse 12. Actually, yeah, read 12 to 14. You know, he talks here, the verse before, he says, Whereunto I am appointed a preacher.
[0:50] He's talking about the gospel. And he's appointed a preacher, and he's appointed an apostle and a teacher. Of the Gentiles. For the which cause I also suffer these things.
[1:04] Nevertheless, I am not ashamed. For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
[1:19] Holding fast the form of sound words which thou hast heard of me in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
[1:30] That good thing which was committed unto thee, keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us. Verse 12 is where I want to spend my time here this morning.
[1:46] Looking at this. Verse 12. Verse 12. Verse 12. Verse 12. I know whom I have believed. And I am persuaded that he is able.
[2:04] He is able what? To keep what I have committed unto him. So let's just dissect this verse.
[2:18] Let's take a look at it. And see if we can say this along with Brother Paul. I know whom I have believed.
[2:30] Do we know Jesus? Do we know God himself? Do we know who that we believe? We profess that we believe today.
[2:42] We confess and say that we know God. We say that we know Jesus. But do we really know him? Is there proof in your life, coming out of your life, that you know him?
[3:01] Do we know him? And how do we know him? Who is this God?
[3:13] Who is he? Who is Jesus? Who is he to you? I just want to look at a few things.
[3:24] You know, that day Jesus asked the disciples, But who do you say that I am? And Peter answered, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
[3:38] So if Jesus is the Son of the living God, Who is the living God? Do you know who he is? And how do you know him?
[3:49] Who is he to you? You know, he is the creator of all things. He is the one that created the heavens and the earth.
[4:01] He is the one who we serve, the one that we worship. He is the one. He is the one that we give our lives to.
[4:15] Now I want to read a few verses just talking about God. You know, this verse in Deuteronomy says, The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.
[4:34] The eternal God, he is from eternity to eternity, no beginning and no end. We cannot fathom eternity in our finite minds.
[4:48] Humanity tries to bring God to a place that we can understand him. Well, he is beyond understanding.
[4:59] He is beyond comprehending. He is eternal. And he is our refuge. You know, it doesn't matter what situation we find ourselves in.
[5:13] It doesn't matter what comes our way. It doesn't matter if someday we suffer persecution. It doesn't matter if people come against us. Our God is our refuge.
[5:26] He is our refuge and our strength. A very present help in time of trouble. He is our refuge. And this verse says, Underneath are the everlasting arms.
[5:41] In Proverbs 9, Psalm 121, it says that, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. Our God, he doesn't take a nap.
[5:52] He's always there to hear when we cry out to him. The Lord is good and he is a stronghold in the day of trouble.
[6:05] We all face trouble. We all face situations. We all face things that didn't go the way we wish. This is in Nahum.
[6:18] It says that our God, the Lord is good. We serve a good God. We serve a loving God.
[6:30] And he is a stronghold in the day of trouble. He knoweth them that trust in him. God knows if you trust in him.
[6:42] And if you trust in him, he knows you. He knows your heart. He knows who you are. And he knows what you are going through.
[6:53] I want to turn to, I want to get a couple verses out of Isaiah. Isaiah 26, 1-4. In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah.
[7:11] We have a strong city. Salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. Open ye the gates that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
[7:28] Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusts in thee.
[7:39] Trust ye in the Lord forever. For in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. The Lord Jehovah, the Almighty God, the one, the great I am.
[7:53] We sang about him this morning. He is without beginning and without end. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere present. He is the one that we can trust in him.
[8:08] We can trust in him. His strength is everlasting. But he says here, notice what he says here. Salvation will the Lord our God will appoint for walls and bulwarks.
[8:26] You know, back in this day, in the Old Testament times, they had these cities and they built walls around them and bulwarks against the enemy. And they were built to repel the enemy forces.
[8:43] And that is what salvation is to us today. As we have been saved. It is a wall around about us.
[8:54] Our God is a wall around about us. Psalm talks about that. But he is a strong and a mighty tower. And he encampeth around about them that fear him.
[9:07] That's our God. Our God. He is that to us. To the Christian. He will keep. It says, thou will keep him in perfect peace.
[9:21] Whose mind is stayed on thee. If we have our mind stayed upon God. Our mind stayed and resting in him.
[9:34] If we trust in him. We will have perfect peace. You know, can we trust him? Have we learned to trust him in that way?
[9:49] In that way. That whatever comes our way. We trust in him.
[10:01] We rest in him. Hebrews talks about entering into rest.
[10:13] And I believe that that comes when we know our God. When we know him. To the point that we can rest in him.
[10:25] Doesn't matter what our situation is. What we face. What circumstances come our way.
[10:36] But we've learned to trust in him. And know that he will care for us. And he will carry us through. What is in Philippians.
[10:48] Where it says. Casting all your care upon him. For he careth for you. No, that's not the verse I want it. But that's. That's another one. It says he wants us.
[11:01] To be without carefulness. But he wants us to trust in him. That's the one in Philippians. Do we know him?
[11:13] Do we know him? Now I want to go back. What's the next phrase? I know whom I have believed.
[11:25] If we know Jesus. And we know this God that we serve. Then it's not hard to believe in him. And to trust him.
[11:35] To trust him. In every situation. I know whom I have believed. And am persuaded. Are you persuaded today?
[11:47] Are you persuaded? That he is able. Or do you sway? When that wind of adversity hits.
[11:58] When those trials come. When those testings hit. Do they sway you? Do they blow you over? Do they blow you off course?
[12:10] Or are you persuaded? Are you persuaded today? Do you know? You know the apostle. He lists all the things.
[12:23] The adversity. Probably not all of them. But there's a whole list of them. Shipwrecks. And beatings. I think he was beaten five times. And other things.
[12:34] On and on. That he went through. But he was persuaded. And he knew. The God that he served. He knew Jesus.
[12:45] And he was persuaded. Are we persuaded? That he is able. I want to get a couple verses here.
[12:58] And in Hebrews. In Hebrews chapter 7 verse 25. Talking about Jesus our high priest. He says.
[13:10] Wherefore he is able also. To save them to the uttermost. That come unto God by him. Seeing he ever liveth.
[13:22] To make intercession for them. Jesus is able. To save to the uttermost.
[13:33] He is able to save out of the depth of sin. He is able to save on our deathbed as we heard. He is able to save us in our youth.
[13:45] And to take us on faithfully through life. If we will walk with him. If we will commit ourselves to him in this way.
[13:56] But he is able. To save to the uttermost. There is no situation that he cannot save. There is no situation he cannot save you.
[14:09] Save you in. Yes. Yes. You know. Just think of the Hebrew boys there. They were young men. And here they were.
[14:20] The king was demanding that they bow down to his idol. What did they say? They said. We do not know. Whether God will save us from that fire or not.
[14:35] But it does not matter. We know he will deliver us from your hand, O king. Hallelujah. They were willing to lay down their life.
[14:46] If that was what it cost. But God delivered them. Through a miraculous deliverance. God is able to save them to the uttermost.
[14:59] He is able to save to the uttermost. Those that come unto God by Jesus. That we come to God by Jesus. Seeing he ever liveth.
[15:10] To make intercession for them. Our Jesus. The one who gave his life on Calvary. And he rose again. He's seated at the right hand of the Father.
[15:23] And he ever liveth. What's he doing? Making intercession for us. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus.
[15:35] Acts 10. 10.38. A wonderful verse. And there's so much.
[15:46] There's so much in that verse. Acts 10.38. Here we have Peter. And he's preaching.
[15:58] And he says. Now he's talking about Jesus. He says. He says. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth. With the Holy Ghost.
[16:10] And with power. Jesus. When he was here on this earth. He was anointed by the Holy Ghost. And the power of the Spirit of God.
[16:21] And he went about. Doing good. And healing all that were oppressed of the devil. For God was with him. Jesus. He went about.
[16:33] Bringing deliverance to everyone. To those that were oppressed of the devil. And he is able today. To deliver to the uttermost.
[16:45] Those that are in bondage to the devil. Yes. Yes. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. 1 Thessalonians 5.
[17:06] 23 and 24. And the very God of peace. Sanctify you wholly. And I pray God. Your whole spirit. And soul.
[17:18] And body. Be preserved. Blameless. Unto the coming. Of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you.
[17:29] Who also. Will. Do it. Notice. What he says here. He says. I pray God. This is his prayer.
[17:40] For the people. That your whole. Spirit. Soul. And body. Our whole being. Be preserved. Blameless. Unto the coming.
[17:51] Of our Lord Jesus Christ. You know we. That's. That's our whole being. It's our whole being. And he's. His prayer. And concern is.
[18:03] That we are blameless. Unto the coming. Of our Lord Jesus. And then. Talking about Jesus. He says. Faithful is he. That calleth you.
[18:14] Who also. Will do it. Jesus. Called us. And he is faithful. If we will walk with him. He is faithful.
[18:24] To do his part. To carry us through. And to take us through. Unto the end. And he that has begun. A good work. Is faithful. To fulfill it.
[18:36] And to finish that good work. That he has. Begun in us. You know. God knows. Every detail. Of your life. He knows. Every detail.
[18:46] Of every situation. You face. Everything you go through. He knows. He knows it. You know. In Luke. It says.
[18:57] Jesus said. Even the hairs. Of your head. Are numbered. You know. We don't know. How many hairs. We have. And it really. Doesn't matter. To us. But our God.
[19:08] Knows. So he knows. Every detail. About you. And he cares. About those little details. So are we persuaded.
[19:24] That he is able. Hallelujah. Hopefully we are. Hopefully we are. Persuaded. That he is able. To keep that.
[19:36] Which I have. Committed. Unto him. Against that day. Now let me ask you. What have you committed. To him. What have you given.
[19:47] To him. What have you given. To him. What have you committed.
[19:58] To him. You know. When we. When we. Are born again. We surrender. Our heart. And life. To him. We give our all.
[20:09] To him. Have we left. Our all. In his hands. Have we. You know.
[20:19] We will say. We have committed. All to him. We have laid down. Our life. On that altar. We have given him. Our all. Have we left it there.
[20:30] Or have we again. Picked it up. And tried to work things out. In our own strength. You know. He is able to keep.
[20:42] What we have committed. If we leave it there. But if we again. Pick it up. And try to work out. Our own. Our own life. We try to order.
[20:53] Our own steps. We try. To figure out. Our own path. Then he just stands back. And he lets us go. Until we come to the place.
[21:06] And we run up against the wall. And there we stop. And we realize. That we cannot. Direct our own steps. But what have you committed to him.
[21:20] Or entrusted to him. Do you trust him. You know. What are things. That we trust him for. You know.
[21:32] When we come to him. And we give him our all. We surrender our heart and life to him.
[21:42] And we are born again. A new creation in Christ Jesus. We have surrendered. Ourselves to him. And we trust him for our salvation.
[21:57] And he will. Grant us eternal life. If we will. Surrender our heart and life to him. Our spirit. Our soul. Our body.
[22:07] Our future. Our health. Our business. Our will. That's the big one. Is our will. You know. We heard about iniquity last weekend.
[22:18] And it was mentioned here this morning. But iniquity is just simply going our own way. Choosing my way instead of his way.
[22:31] Choosing to go. To do what I want to do. Choosing to do it how I want to do it. Instead of trusting him.
[22:41] And following his leading. Have you committed everything to him?
[22:53] Or have you drawn back? Drawn back. Hebrews says. If we draw back. He has no pleasure in us.
[23:12] We are not promised. An easy path. We are not promised. That life will be easy.
[23:23] You know. In 2 Timothy 1. Verse 8. He says.
[23:36] Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord. Nor of me his prisoner. And Paul was a prisoner.
[23:48] At that time. Apprehended. Why? Because of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He says. But be thou partaker.
[24:01] Of the afflictions of the gospel. According to the power of God. Be a partaker of the afflictions of the gospel.
[24:14] You know. When we suffer affliction. When we suffer opposition. When we are mocked and opposed. Because of truth. Because of truth. Because we stand for this word.
[24:26] Because we stand for the truth of the word. Let's be. Let's be faithful. And let's count it all joy.
[24:37] To suffer for Jesus name. When we are a partaker of the afflictions. Of the gospel. Of the gospel. Yes. Yes. Yes.
[24:49] He admonishes us here. To be a partaker. You know. Sometimes we can choose. If we are going to stand and be a partaker.
[25:02] Or if we will just kind of hide in the shadows. And escape some of the persecution. Be thou a partaker. Of the afflictions.
[25:15] Of the gospel. In chapter 2 verse 3. Thou therefore. Endure hardness. As a good soldier. Of Jesus Christ. Are you a soldier.
[25:27] In the army of Jesus Christ today. You know. Soldiers. They are trained to fight. There is a reason for an army.
[25:38] And we are a part of the army of God. And he admonishes us. To endure hardness. Not be a softie.
[25:49] Not to run when things get difficult. But to be strong. And to endure hardness. As a soldier would. You know.
[25:59] A soldier. He is trained to stand in adversity. He is trained to stand against the enemy. And know that.
[26:10] That. That the enemy will be there. And he is trained to. To fight. And to overcome the enemy. That is his purpose. And that is our purpose.
[26:22] As a soldier. Of Jesus Christ. 2nd Chronicles 15. 2 says. The Lord is with you.
[26:34] While you are with him. Notice. You know. We ask the Lord. To be with us. We ask him to come.
[26:45] And be in our midst. We ask him. To go with us. In places we go. But remember this verse. The Lord is with you.
[26:57] While you be with him. You know. If we will walk with him. He will be with us. The prophet Amos says. How can two walk together.
[27:09] Except they be agreed. You know. What he is saying is. If we. Do not agree with God. He won't walk with us. But if we agree with him.
[27:22] And we walk with him. He will be with us. And he will go with us. Wherever we go. He will be with us. To the ends of the earth. Hallelujah.
[27:33] Hallelujah. The Lord is with you. While you be with him. If we seek him. With all our heart. He will be found of you.
[27:45] When we seek him. With all our heart. Not holding back anything. Not holding back part. But totally yielded.
[27:55] Our will totally laid down. And surrendered to his will. Then we can find him. And we can find his will. For our life. It's when.
[28:06] It's when. We want to hold back. And we. We. We have an area. We're not willing. To follow him. That's when we have difficulty.
[28:17] Finding the will of God. But he will be found of us. When we seek for him. With all our hearts.
[28:28] Yes. Yes. The eyes of the Lord. Run to and fro.
[28:39] Across the whole earth. What's he looking for? He's looking. He's looking for a man. Whose heart is perfect. Toward God.
[28:51] That's what he's looking for. And what else does it say? He will. He will show himself strong. To that man.
[29:02] For that man. When he finds that man. Whose heart is perfect. Toward God. God. Will.
[29:13] Will be there with him. And will strengthen him. And will carry him through whatever. Whatever circumstance. Yes.
[29:24] God is looking. For a people. Who will serve him. And follow him. No matter what. Jesus said.
[29:42] Seek ye first. The kingdom of God. And his righteousness. And all these things. Will be added unto you. Seek first. The kingdom of God.
[29:53] Seek him first. And his will. Follow his will. Whatever it is. Make that priority in your life. He will take care of the details.
[30:05] He will take care of the rest. He will take care of those things. That sometimes. We might. Think.
[30:16] We. We have to do those first. But if we seek him first. He will take care of us. Matthew 6 says.
[30:29] For where your treasure is. There will your heart be also. Where our treasure is. Is Jesus our treasure? Is he more than anything else to us?
[30:43] Or. Is something else ahead of Jesus? You know Jesus said. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve God and mammon.
[30:56] Either you will serve the one. Or you will serve the other. We cannot serve both. God. Let's turn to Psalm 103.
[31:13] A very familiar. Portion of scripture. But it is so precious. It is so precious. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me.
[31:28] Bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Forget not the benefits of our God.
[31:41] Forget not his provisions. Forget not what he has provided for us. Who forgives all thine iniquities?
[31:53] He forgives all our iniquities. If we surrender our heart and life to him, he forgets our past. He forgives, and he forgets, and he puts it away.
[32:05] And he forgives completely, and he will not remember it again. He forgives all our iniquities. He healeth all our diseases.
[32:18] He heals all our diseases. If we will commit our health and our body to him, he will heal all our diseases. But so many times we want to trust in other things.
[32:32] We want to trust in doctors. We want to trust in other things. And there's so much witchcraft out there in our day trying to bring healing to this body.
[32:45] You know, God created it, and he will take care of it if we will but allow him. You know, what do we trust in more than Jesus?
[32:57] What is it? Healeth all our diseases. Healeth all our diseases. Who redeemeth thy life from destruction. Who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies.
[33:11] Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles. He redeems our life from destruction.
[33:22] I believe that as we go about our Lord's business, as we travel to Pennsylvania, as we go here and there, as we go to our job, as we work on our job, he watches over us.
[33:37] Says he redeems our life from destruction. I believe that when the enemy comes and he would like to destroy you, God will say no.
[33:49] Or he will say this far and no further like he did for Job. But what is our response? You know, just think of Job and all that he went through and all the misery and the torment and pain that he endured.
[34:07] And yet, what was his testimony? He said, I know that my Redeemer liveth. And in that latter day, he will again stand upon the earth.
[34:21] Hallelujah. I know that my Redeemer liveth. Do we know that our Redeemer lives? And are we trusting him no matter what comes our way?
[34:32] No matter what we're going through? Another thing that Job said, he said, though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.
[34:44] Hallelujah. Is that our testimony? That though we lose this physical life, it will not affect our walk with Jesus.
[34:58] It will not, you know, if God allows something to happen to us that ultimately will cost our life, we will trust him until the end and meet him in glory.
[35:16] Hallelujah. Job. Yes. Yes. Psalm 103. Verse 10.
[35:32] He hath not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
[35:46] Is the fear of God in your heart? Not that we're afraid of God, but a healthy fear of God. A fear of God that will keep us from evil.
[35:58] A fear of God that will keep us on the straight and narrow. A fear of God that we will fear to sidetrack from what God has for our life.
[36:10] A fear of God that will keep us from sidetracking away from trusting in him. Our God.
[36:24] His mercy is great toward them that fear him. Hallelujah. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
[36:40] He doesn't remember our transgressions anymore. We're just as if we'd never sinned. That's how we stand before him. And let us come boldly to the throne of grace, knowing that he will hear and he will help in our time of need.
[36:58] Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.
[37:09] You know, us as parents, we know what it is to pity our children. We see, you know, they're out playing and they get hurt and we pity them and we try to doctor them up.
[37:26] We put a band-aid on and all of that. And we pity our children when they go through hard times. But God pities us.
[37:39] As a father pities his children, our God pities those that fear him. For he knoweth our frame.
[37:51] He remembereth that we are dust. God remembers what we're made of. He remembers that we're dust. And then he breathed into Adam that breath of life.
[38:04] And now we are. We are flesh and blood. And yes, we are frail. What does he say here? As for man, his days are as grass.
[38:16] As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. The wind passes over it and it is gone. And the place thereof shall know it no more.
[38:28] That's us. In our earthly body of flesh and blood. But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him.
[38:43] And his righteousness unto children's children. And as such as keep his covenant to those that remember his commandments to do them.
[38:55] The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens. And his kingdom ruleth over all. Remember that. Remember that next time that you're going through a hard time.
[39:09] Remember that next time when you, as a soldier of Jesus Christ, you face the enemy. And it looks so hard. It looks so difficult.
[39:21] But remember that our God. What does it say? He, his throne is in the heavens. And his kingdom ruleth over all.
[39:33] Hallelujah. That's our God. That's the one that we serve. That's the one that we commit our all to. That's the one that we commit our body, soul, and spirit to.
[39:46] And know that he is able to keep what we've committed unto him against that day. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Jeremiah 17.
[40:08] Verse 5. Thus saith the Lord, Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.
[40:24] He pronounces a curse upon the people that trust in man, that trust in humanity, that trust in the arm of flesh. And, you know, in Jeremiah's day, he was prophesying to the children of Israel there.
[40:40] And they wanted to trust in the power of Egypt. And they wanted to ask Egypt to come and defend them. But Jeremiah was telling them, Cursed is the man that trusts in man, and maketh flesh his arm.
[40:58] That trusts in man that trusts in the arm of flesh, that trusts in what flesh can do, and does not trust in the Lord. He shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land, and not inhabit it.
[41:23] It's a very bleak picture. It's a very bleak picture of the man that trusts in man. Out in the desert, you know, there's very little out there.
[41:36] Very little water, very little grass, very little anything of life, of wilderness. It's as a salt land. You know, salt.
[41:47] Nothing grows when there's salt. But verse 7, Blessed is the man that trusts in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
[42:01] If we trust in him, if we commit everything to him, he will bless us. And notice, let's read verse 8. He shall be as a tree planted by the waters, that spreadeth out her roots by the river.
[42:19] And shall not see when heat cometh. But her leaf shall be green, and shall not be careful in the year of drought.
[42:30] Neither shall cease from yielding fruit. The man that trusts in God is like this tree planted by the river of living waters.
[42:46] You know, the river, it keeps flowing. It might be drought. It might be dry and not have rained for three years. But the water still, is there still water in this river?
[42:58] And this tree, its roots are deep. And it gets the moisture that it needs. That's the man that trusts in God.
[43:09] It says, We'll not even see when heat cometh. We'll not be careful in the year of drought.
[43:21] The year of drought, it can come and go. But this tree, its leaves are green, and the fruit is growing. That's the man who trusts in the Lord.
[43:32] It says, Neither shall cease from yielding fruit. Which are we today? Which are you today?
[43:45] Can you still bear fruit in the middle of a drought? Do you still bear fruit in adversity when things are coming against you?
[43:57] When you're being mocked because you stand for truth? You're being persecuted. You're being tormented. You're being whatever.
[44:08] You're being run down. You're being forsaken by your friends. Is there still fruit? Is there still fruit to feed the hungry around about you?
[44:21] Matthew, Jesus said, With men, there are some things that are impossible. But with God, all things are possible.
[44:36] All things are possible. He admonishes us to have faith as a grain of mustard seed. Nothing, nothing will be impossible to us if we have faith but as a grain of mustard seed.
[44:57] Yes. You know, I find it very interesting. I want to read a few verses in Deuteronomy 8. Deuteronomy 8.
[45:09] You know, we quote this one verse many times. That he might make thee know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord, doth man live.
[45:30] Verse 3. But I want to go back. I want to read, you know, verse 1.
[45:41] He talks about the commandments that he commanded them and so on. And then verse 2. Thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these 40 years.
[45:56] You know, we look at those 40 years in the wilderness. And we think that those were just wasted years. They were just wasted years.
[46:08] But let's look at what God says. He says, I led you these 40 years in the wilderness. And what was the purpose? It was to humble thee.
[46:19] To humble thee. And to prove thee. And to know what was in thine heart. You know, when you find yourself in the wilderness.
[46:33] When you find yourself in that desert, in that dry place. In that impossibility. You find yourself there.
[46:46] Remember this verse. What is God after? What is he after? He is proving you. Seeing what's in your heart.
[46:58] He is humbling you. Why? That you might turn to him and trust him. That is what he desires. That's what he wants. He's testing you.
[47:11] Proving you to know what's in your heart. And whether you will stay true to him. No matter what comes. That's what he's after.
[47:24] He says here, he humbled thee. And he suffered thee to hunger. And he fed you with manna. Which you didn't know.
[47:35] You had no idea that there was such a thing. But in your hour of need. He brought manna to feed the children of Israel. And in our hour of need.
[47:47] He will bring manna to feed us and to meet our need. That he might make thee to know.
[48:00] That man does not live by bread only. But by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord. Doth man live.
[48:12] You know, every word of God. Every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. But it is by that that we live. It is by that that we live.
[48:24] And we move. And we have our being. It is by the word of God. It is not by the physical food. It is not by the money we make.
[48:34] It is not by our own strength. He gives us strength that we might have a job. And that we can work. But it is not by those things that we live.
[48:46] But we live by the word of God. We live by the will of God. And it is his will. That we trust him in every area of life.
[49:01] Here he says he humbled the children of Israel. He tested them. And what was he after? He was after. That they would know.
[49:12] That their very life depended on him. That their very sustenance depended on him. That everything in the future depended on him.
[49:28] That's what he was after. He wants to know us.
[49:45] And he wants to know what's in your heart. And he wants to know. How you will respond.
[49:59] When there's no food. When the times are hard. When the trials are difficult. When you're facing opposition.
[50:10] When you're facing persecution. He wants to know. He wants to know what's in your heart. Why? Those things will bring out what's in our heart. Just like.
[50:21] These situations brought out what was in Israel's heart. These situations will bring out what's in our heart. And he will try us.
[50:32] And test us. And he will see. What's in our heart. Yes. Sephaniah.
[50:47] Chapter 3. Verse 16 says.
[51:02] In that day. It shall be said to Jerusalem. Fear thou not. And to Zion. Let not thine hands be slack. The Lord thy God.
[51:14] In the midst of thee. Is mighty. He will save. He will rejoice over thee with joy. He will rest in his love.
[51:26] He will joy over thee with singing. The Lord our God. In the midst. Our God here in our midst.
[51:37] He is mighty. And he will save. He will save you. In the time of adversity. In the things that you face.
[51:48] In the trials and testings you go through. In the battles that you face. He will be mighty. If you will trust in him. And commit everything to him.
[51:58] When we commit our way to him. He will lead us. Yes. And he will save.
[52:09] He will rejoice over us with joy. You know our God. He rejoices in us. When we walk with him.
[52:20] When we carry. And show forth. The true testimony of Jesus Christ. He will joy over us. You know remember.
[52:32] Remember Job. Satan came before God. And God said. Have you considered my servant Job? What if God would say.
[52:47] Will you. Satan. Will you consider. My servant Dan. Daniel. All of you. What if God. Would say that.
[52:58] About us. Will we stand. You know. God. Joys over us. He knows those. That trust in him.
[53:09] He knows those. That fear him. And walk. With him. He knows us. He knows us.
[53:21] Yes. So let me ask you again. The question. What have you committed to him? Have you committed everything?
[53:35] Your life. Your future. Have you given him your will? Have you committed your life to him?
[53:48] Every part of it. Your future. Your job. Your job. For I know.
[54:02] Whom I have believed. And I am persuaded. That he is able. To keep that which I have committed.
[54:16] Under him. Against that. He will keep it. We will give it. Amen.
