[0:00] Amen. Is he alive? Amen. You may be seated. That's why we are here this morning. It's because he is alive. And, you know, today there's probably more people in church than any other day of the year. But is he real to them? Is he real to us? Is this a personal, is the resurrection of Jesus, is that personal to us? You know, I, this morning, this morning as I was getting ready, I said the thing of Romans 6 where he says, therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death. That like us, Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father. Even so, we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. You know, without death, there is no resurrection. And we are here today because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Yes, today is Easter and so we remember it more. But if it would not be for the resurrection of our Lord, we would not be here.
[1:59] So I think I'll start with Matthew chapter 28. And then I want to go on and I believe that's the direction we're headed. And the direction we're headed is we're going to take a look at, you know, the Old Testament foreshadowed the new. And the Old Testament brings out many types and shadows. And the Passover, the Passover week lays out the Passion Week. The Passion Week is basically, you know, you can follow it step by step all the way through. And you know what this tells me is that our God, you know, nothing happens by accident. Everything is planned out. You know, how many times during Jesus' earthly ministry did he say this was done to fulfill the Scripture? And again, other things, you know, time after time, Jesus did things that is brought out in the Gospels that he did it and it fulfilled
[3:37] Scripture. And so God is a God of order. And he has everything scheduled, you might say. There's nothing happens by accident. Nothing, just however it happens to pan out. But God has everything planned.
[4:03] And as we look at this, we want to point some of that out. And before I forget, you know, and we might run across this later, but, you know, Israel was 430 years in Egypt. They were there. And, you know, they were welcomed there to start with because of Joseph and the situation and all of that.
[4:33] But later they became slaves there. But the Bible tells us that 430 years on the day, Israel left Egypt.
[4:48] And it's just very interesting that, you know, they say there's 400 years between Malachi and when Jesus came.
[4:59] So there's 430 years between Malachi and Calvary, approximately. You know, we don't have the exact years.
[5:09] But, you know, it's just very interesting how God ordered all these things. Well, John said he likes the book of John, and I do too. I like them all. But I want to read this account because of something special in this account in Matthew 28.
[5:35] And for fear of him, the keepers did shake and became as dead men.
[6:04] And, you know, you just look at this. You know, the elders of Israel, they had come and they had told Pilate.
[6:15] Now, you know, this deceiver, he said, you know, he said that on the third day he's going to rise again. And so we need to do something to make sure this doesn't happen, to make sure that the disciples don't come and steal away his body and say that he rose again. And so they set a watch and they put a guard there at the tomb to make sure.
[6:41] To make sure. Well, you know, man can be as sure as they want, but God's plan will still be fulfilled. And when the angel, says the angel came, the angel of the Lord descended and just took one angel.
[7:04] And all of those men that were guarding the tomb, they just fell over like dead men.
[7:14] And the angel, he just rolled that stone away real quick. Hallelujah. Glory to God.
[7:27] Verse 5. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye, for I know that ye seek Jesus which was crucified. He is not here, for he is risen.
[7:39] As he said, come see the place where the Lord lay. You know, can you just imagine how it was for the disciples and those believers that had followed Jesus and he had healed them and he had taught them and they had heard the word and they believed that the kingdom of God was coming.
[8:03] The kingdom of God has come like Jesus is teaching. And here we are. Now Jesus is dead. It must have been the darkest night ever.
[8:23] But Sunday morning came. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I think we'll...
[8:41] First, let's read a few verses in 1 Corinthians.
[8:52] And I think we'll go to Exodus. 1 Corinthians chapter 9. 1 Corinthians chapter 9. 1 Corinthians chapter 9.
[9:07] 1 Corinthians chapter 9.
[9:37] 1 Corinthians chapter 9.
[10:07] 1 Corinthians chapter 9. 1 Corinthians chapter 10. 1 Corinthians chapter 10.
[10:37] 1 Corinthians chapter 9. 1 Corinthians chapter 9. as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them. As it is written, the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
[10:51] Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
[11:06] Neither murmured ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for in samples, and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
[11:25] Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed, lest he fall. There has no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man.
[11:36] But God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above, that ye are able. But will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
[11:50] Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. You know, there's a lot in this portion, and we'll just look at part of it.
[12:02] But he starts, well, where we started reading, he's talking about running the race, and how every man that is running a race, he's temperate in all things.
[12:20] In other words, he has self-control, and he orders his life in the way that is necessary for him to be successful, and to win the race.
[12:33] You know, if a man is going to go out and run a race, he's not going to put on a heavy coat and a backpack to go run that race. No, but he, and he trains for it, and he practices, and he gets, he prepares himself for it.
[12:51] The Apostle Paul says here, I therefore, I therefore so run, in verse 26, not as uncertainly, so fight I, not as one that beateth the air, but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection, lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
[13:27] So, he's, you know, he talks other places about running the race, and fighting the fight, and winning the battle, but here he says, so fight I, not as one that beateth the air.
[13:42] You know, everything is planned, and, and, and practice it on purpose, and, and he lays aside other things, to run this race, so that it's not run uncertainly, but that it is run with purpose, and he keeps under his body, and he brings it into subjection, and this is very serious.
[14:08] Notice how he ends this verse, lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself, should be a castaway.
[14:19] Now, my mind went back, to last Sunday, and, and, something that Joe mentioned, it just really jumped out at me. You know, we, we know that, that we, we have to keep under our old man, and that is what the apostle is talking about here, but, what Joe mentioned last week, is Jesus in the garden, when he was praying, he said, you know, please take this cup from me, but not my will, but thine be done, and Jesus knew, that he had to go to Calvary, he knew that he had to go to the cross, but, the man, part of Jesus, did not want to do that.
[15:05] And you know, it's the same with us, that old man of ours, it needs to go to Calvary, and it needs to be put there every day, it needs to be brought under.
[15:16] The new man in Christ Jesus, the spirit man, needs to keep the old man there, and, that is, the example that Jesus left us, is, his human side, did not want to, to go to the cross, but, the divine side said, you have to, and Jesus knew it, and he did, and, that is, where we so often fail, it's, because, it's not, it's not comfortable, it's, it hurts, it's, you know, crucifixion is very, is very hard, crucifixion is very painful, but that old man must be crucified, he must be kept on the cross, you know, in verse 14, chapter 10, he says, wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry, our first thought, is, that, you know, we don't set up an idol, and worship it, but it's not that, that he's talking about, he's talking about, the idolatry, in our own heart, he's talking about us, allowing that old man, to have his way, it's, he's talking about us, allowing that old man, to dictate our life, that's idolatry, and it's rebellion, it's witchcraft, and he's warning us of that, but he also says, he warns us, you know, there's so many warnings, in the scriptures, wherefore, let him that think as he standeth, take heed, lest he fall, remember, what he said, in the last verse, in chapter 9, if, lest if by any means, when I preach to others,
[17:25] I myself, should be a castaway, let him that think as he standeth, take heed, lest he fall, you know, I believe these things, were very real to the apostle, and they need to be, very real to us, we sang that song, prone to wonder, Lord, I feel it, you know, I don't like that, but it's, it's a reality, if we allow this old man, to have his way, then we will wander away, from our God, there has no temptation, taken you, but such as is common to man, but God is faithful, and he will not suffer us, to be tempted above, that we are able, but he will with the temptation, make a way to escape, you know, he will, there will always be a way, if we will stand, for truth and right, if we will stand, for, for, for, for, for Christ, and, and for what he has done for us, if we will stand, for, for truth, and we will stand, against the wiles, and the temptations, of the devil, there will be victory, it is available for us, it is available for us, you know,
[18:47] Jesus, he suffered, he, he was here as a man, and he suffered as a man, and he was tempted, in all points, like as we are, yet without sin, and so, he condemned, sin in the flesh, by doing that, by living a sinless life, and by overcoming the devil, Jesus condemned, sin in the flesh, and he wants us, to live above sin, and to live victorious, now let's look, let's talk a little bit, about Israel, so, in chapter 10, says that Israel, was all baptized, unto Moses, in the cloud, and in the sea, and they did all eat, the same spiritual meat, and drink, but with many of them, God was not well pleased, and why was he not well pleased, well, we can read on here, they fell into idolatry, and the people sat down, to eat and drink, and rose up to play, and they committed fornication, and they tempted Christ, how did they tempt Christ, what was the occasion, how, what did they do, that they tempted Christ, was it not in one place, said is, is God able, to provide, here in this wilderness, unbelief, when, you know, unbelief, when we doubt God, how terrible a thing, that is,
[20:38] God, sent serpents, to destroy them, in their unbelief, they murmured, they murmured, against God, and they complained, and they were destroyed, these things happened to them, for an example, well, let's go to Exodus, and want to, look at this a little bit, you know, here in this account, Moses confronts,
[21:38] Pharaoh, and the Bible tells us, that God hardened, Pharaoh's heart, and, you know, it's not that Pharaoh, was just a puppet, in God's hand, and, he didn't have any choice, in the matter, no, it's not that, it's that, Pharaoh had, already made up, his mind, Pharaoh had made up, his mind, and so God, brought all these, judgments, you know, during these, plagues, and during these, Pharaoh, several times, tried to, get, Moses, to compromise, to compromise, but Moses, refused, to compromise, and, you know, you look at this, when we come to Christ, you know,
[22:45] Egypt, is a type of the world, and Pharaoh, a type of the devil, and, when we, when we want to come to Christ, Christ, the devil, will try to make, all kinds of compromises, with us, he will try to, to make a deal with you, well, you can go ahead, and be a Christian, but just, you know, I mean, don't get, don't become a fanatic, don't, you know, don't get to, you know, just on and on, whatever, whatever you are willing, to compromise, he'll strike a deal, with you, why?
[23:22] Because if he can get a foot in you, in the door, he's still got you, but we must be like Moses, in Exodus chapter 10, verse 26, well, let's read verse 24, and Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, go ye, serve the Lord, only let your flocks, and your herds, be stayed, let your little ones, also go with you, and Moses said, thou must give us, also sacrifices, and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice, unto the Lord our God, our cattle also, shall go with us, there shall not a hoof, be left behind, not a hoof, nothing will be left behind, when we leave here, everything's going, and when we come to Christ, our whole being, and all our possessions, and everything, now belongs to him, nothing, there can't be a root, going back into Egypt, back into the world, it's not allowed, it will not work, everything must be cut off, so chapter 12, the Lord spithm of Moses,
[25:07] This month shall be unto you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you. Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers a lamb for an house.
[25:32] And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next unto him, next unto his house, take it according to the number of the souls.
[25:49] Every man according to his eating shall make their count for the lamb. The lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. He shall take it out from the sheep or from the goats, and you shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month.
[26:06] And then you shall kill it in the evening. So, you know, God gave very specific directions in this Passover and how they were to prepare for it, how they were to keep it.
[26:22] So they have, on the tenth day, they were supposed to get the lamb and to pick out one without spot and without blemish and keep it until the fourteenth day.
[26:34] In other words, to watch this lamb and to watch over it and to make sure that this lamb qualifies to be the Passover lamb.
[26:44] You know, so we think of Jesus and we think of Passion Week and, you know, on the tenth day.
[26:55] You know, the Passover then was the fourteenth day. But on the tenth day, Jesus came and he came into Jerusalem, the triumphant entering into Jerusalem.
[27:08] And here he came and he was in Jerusalem the next few days. You know, I'm sure everybody wondered, what's going on here?
[27:20] Here comes Jesus and he's acting like he's a king. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So the lamb was kept for those days.
[27:41] You know, and I find it very interesting. You know, the Jews, they said, you know, when they were looking to take Jesus, you know, one thing that they said, they said, not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.
[28:04] Because on the feast day, on the day of Passover, the city was full of people. And they knew that many of these people were followers of Jesus.
[28:19] And so, they didn't want to do it on the feast day. But you know what happened? When Jesus gave the sop to Judas and he sent him out, it set it up that the crucifixion was on the feast day.
[28:41] Why? Because that was God's plan. It had to be on the feast day, on the day of the Passover, on the day that the lamb was killed.
[28:53] You know, so, I don't know how much of this we want to read. But, you know, Israel, they were told to kill the lamb and to put the blood on the doorpost and all of that.
[29:10] And then the death angel will come through and all the firstborn will die. Well, so on the 14th day, when the Jews there in Jerusalem in Jesus' time, when they had their lambs ready, and it was their tradition, the commandment was in the evening.
[29:37] Well, so they had morning from 6 in the morning till 12 o'clock noon. And then it was evening from 12 till 6. So, at 3 o'clock, they would kill the lamb.
[29:52] And then that evening, they would eat the Passover meal. Well, you know what happened? Jesus was crucified that morning at 9 o'clock.
[30:10] At 12 noon, that afternoon, there was darkness over all the earth, or at least over that area.
[30:22] At 3 o'clock, at the exact time the Passover lamb was killed, Jesus died. You know, God had it all planned.
[30:36] He had it all set up. This didn't just happen that way. It didn't just happen that way. Now, let's continue here with the children of Israel in Exodus.
[31:07] Well, God had given them specific instructions and how to care for the blood and how they must stay inside in order to be safe.
[31:18] And, you know, when we come, when we come and we're born again, that blood is sufficient and it will cleanse us and wash us and set us free.
[31:29] And then we must stay in the house. We must stay in the fold of our Lord Jesus. But then, all right, let's start reading in verse 40 in chapter 12 in Exodus.
[31:51] Now the sojourning of the children of Israel who dwelt in Egypt was 430 years. And it came to pass at the end of the 430 years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.
[32:12] It is a night to be much observed unto the Lord for bringing them out from the land of Egypt. This is that night of the Lord to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.
[32:26] And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, this is the ordinance of the Passover. No, there shall no stranger eat thereof. And he goes on and instructs them in that.
[32:39] Then, just keep, I'll just skip over. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
[33:01] Okay, let's read. Let's start reading in chapter 13, verse 17. And it came to pass when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near, for God said, lest peradventure the people repent when they see war and they returned to Egypt.
[33:30] But God led the people about through the way of the wilderness of the Red Sea and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.
[33:43] And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him for he had straightly sworn the children of Israel saying, God will surely visit you and you shall carry up my bones away hence with you.
[33:58] And they took their journey from Succoth and encamped in Etham in the edge of the wilderness. And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud to lead them the way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light to go by day and night.
[34:15] He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night from before the people. You know, I just, as I was reading this, I just had to think, you know, notice, God led not the people through the way of the, He led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near.
[34:48] That would have been the closest route. Because He thought the people might be discouraged and they might change their mind if they would see war so quickly.
[35:02] So He led them by the way of the Red Sea. That there would not be conflict. You know, and just think of the joy of being born again and, you know, that first joy and that first love for Christ.
[35:25] And, you know, it is not till later that the hard trials and things come our way. But God took the children of Israel this way and He took them that way on purpose.
[35:40] So the first night they encamped. They left like in the middle of the night, early morning. They left Egypt on the night of the Passover, after eating the Passover and after the death angel went through.
[35:57] And then early the next morning they left Egypt. So the first night they encamped in Etham. And then chapter 14, And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel that they turn and encamp before Pahiroth, between Magdal and the sea, over against Baal-ziphon, before it shall ye encamp by the sea.
[36:26] You know, and this is very interesting. So God directed them exactly where to camp. And it was by the Red Sea.
[36:37] It was the second night that they were camping. And Pharaoh, for Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land.
[36:49] The wilderness has shut them in. I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them. And I will be honored upon Pharaoh, and upon all his hosts, that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord.
[37:05] And they did so. And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people.
[37:16] And they said, Why have we done this? That we have let Israel go from serving us. And he made ready his chariot and took his people with him.
[37:27] He took six hundred Joseph chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them. And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt.
[37:38] And he pursued after the children of Israel. And the children of Israel went out with a high hand, but the Egyptians pursued after them. All the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them camping where?
[37:55] By the sea. You know, God had told them where they camped. He could have told them, you know, Pharaoh's going to come, you need to go some other place. Try to get away from Pharaoh.
[38:07] But you know, there's no getting away from the devil. That's just how it is. There's no getting away from him. So we will need to face him, and overcome him.
[38:28] But it's just the same for us, as it was for Israel. We stand no chance against the devil in our own strength. Israel had no chance against Pharaoh's army, but God took care of him.
[38:49] When Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them, and they were sore afraid. And the children of Israel cried out unto the Lord, and they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness?
[39:12] Wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us to carry us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians?
[39:27] For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show to you this day.
[39:46] For Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
[39:58] And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me, speaking to the children of Israel, that they go forward. Go forward.
[40:08] Go where forward? Hallelujah. But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
[40:22] And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them, and I will get me honor upon Pharaoh, and upon all his hosts, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
[40:35] And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gotten me honor upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen. And the angel of the Lord, which went before the camp of Israel, removed, and went behind them, and the pillar of the cloud, went from before their face, and stood behind them.
[41:01] And it came between the camp of the Egyptians, and the camp of Israel. And it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these, that the one came not near the other, all the night.
[41:15] And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord caused the sea to go back, by a strong east wind, all that night, and made the sea dry land.
[41:26] And the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea, upon dry ground. And the waters were a wall unto them, on the right hand and on their left.
[41:37] And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them, to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. And it came to pass, that in the morning watch, the Lord looked upon the host of the Egyptians, through the pillar of fire, and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians.
[42:02] Took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily, that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fighteth for them, against the Egyptians.
[42:16] And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
[42:26] And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength. When the morning appeared, and the Egyptians fled against it, and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
[42:41] Now notice a few things here. Pharaoh followed after them.
[42:53] He was coming to reclaim them. You know, when we're born again, the devil will come again, following, try to reclaim us, trying to trip us, trying to ensnare us.
[43:07] But notice what happens here. In the morning watch, the Lord looked into the host of the Egyptians.
[43:20] It was in the morning watch, when again that water come back over the host of the Egyptians. It was in the morning watch, when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ arose from the tomb.
[43:34] And there was victory. The devil was defeated once and for all. In Israel's day, Pharaoh was defeated once and for all.
[43:45] Pharaoh's claim that Israel belongs to me was now broken. When Jesus arose from the dead, the devil's claim that humanity belongs to him was broken.
[43:59] The devil was defeated. You know, if Jesus would have stayed in the tomb, there would not have been the victory.
[44:10] Yes, he had shed his blood, but without the resurrection, there was no power. The power of the devil was not broken.
[44:21] But when Jesus arose from the dead, the power of the devil was broken. And today we can have victory over him. Today we can live a victorious life.
[44:33] Today we can have power over the devil. We do not belong to him. Notice. Let me just again say that when Israel, you know, they were camped there by the sea, and Pharaoh was coming.
[44:56] Pharaoh said, those are my slaves. Those are my people. Those are my servants, and I'm going to force them to come back. But the next morning, Pharaoh and his army were destroyed.
[45:13] Now they were free. They no longer belonged to Pharaoh. And when we, now, we arise in newness of life, in the waters of baptism, we go down in, we're buried with Christ, and we rise in again.
[45:39] The powers of Satan are broken. Oh yes, there will be many battles in the future. There will be many fights. There will be much to overcome.
[45:50] But we no longer belong to the devil. We now belong to Jesus Christ. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Israel.
[46:04] Israel. They were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea. Hallelujah. We read that in Corinthians.
[46:21] Yes. Later, there were many battles for Israel. Yes. Yes. All of that. There's many battles for us.
[46:41] Why? Because our old man needs to be kept on that cross, needs to be kept under every day of our life.
[46:52] Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Verse 30, thus the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the seashore.
[47:09] And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians. And the people feared the Lord and believed the Lord and his servant Moses.
[47:21] Hallelujah. Colossians chapter 2.
[47:42] Start in verse 8. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit. After the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world and not after Christ.
[47:54] For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Jesus, which is the head of all principality and power.
[48:06] In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands. In putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ.
[48:20] Buried with him in baptism. For in also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God. Who hath raised him from the dead.
[48:31] We are buried with him in baptism. And we are risen with him through the faith of the operation of what God has done.
[48:43] And you being dead in your sins. And the uncircumcision of your flesh. Hath he quickened together with him. Having forgiven you all trespasses.
[48:58] Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us. Which was contrary to us. And took it out of the way. Nailing it to his cross.
[49:09] And having spoiled principalities and powers. He made his show of them openly. Triumphing over them in it.
[49:19] He spoiled. Jesus spoiled principalities and powers. He took captivity captive. He made a show of them openly.
[49:32] Triumphing over them in it. You know at the Red Sea. Israel saw their enemy dead upon the seashore. And Jesus. He triumphed over the devil.
[49:46] And all his hosts. And he spoiled them. And he made a show of them openly. They are defeated. They are defeated. Hallelujah.
[49:58] He spoiled them. Hallelujah. But are we buried with him? Have we died with him? Are we keeping our old self on the cross?
[50:14] Are we living for him now? Like Romans. Romans says over and over again. As we are crucified with him.
[50:27] When we are baptized. We are baptized into his death. We are buried with him by baptism. And we arise in newness of life.
[50:38] And then. We must mortify the deeds of the body. Yes.
[50:51] In Romans 8 verse 11. But if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you. He that raised up Christ from the dead.
[51:02] Shall also quicken your mortal bodies. And it is by that spirit. And by that power. That we overcome the devil. It is by that spirit.
[51:14] That we keep the old man crucified. Though the new man must keep the old on the cross. You know. I just noticed here in my notes.
[51:25] There are that. In. In. First Corinthians 10. Where. Where it said. How they tempted. God. How they tempted. That Christ. You know.
[51:36] In gratitude. And complained. They. They. They. They. They didn't have. They weren't thankful. For what God had done. And what he had provided. For them.
[51:46] And they were complaining. About the provisions of God. And God. Sent the fiery. Serpents.
[52:02] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Jesus. Jesus. Came. Let me just read that verse in Hebrews.
[52:15] That he came as a man. Hebrews 2.14.
[52:29] For as much. As the children. Us. We are partakers. Of flesh and blood. He also himself.
[52:41] Likewise. Took part. Of the same. Jesus. Was here. In flesh and blood. Just like. You and I. That through death.
[52:52] He might destroy. Him. That had the power. Of death. That is. The devil. Jesus. Jesus. Came. To destroy.
[53:04] The works. Of the devil. He lived. A sinless life. Here. As a man. In the flesh. He rose. He rose. He rose. He rose.
[53:14] He rose. Again. On the third day. You know. Just like. You know. I guess it was a Catholic church.
[53:25] That came up with the idea of Good Friday. I think they're wrong. Jesus. Jesus was crucified. On Thursday. And they left Egypt.
[53:37] On Good Friday morning. On Friday evening. Tells us where they camped. And then on Saturday evening. They camped by the Red Sea.
[53:50] And Sunday morning. They triumphantly. Crossed out. On the other side of the sea. The type of the resurrection.
[54:00] Of our Lord Jesus. The devil was defeated. Pharaoh was defeated. Hallelujah. Is he defeated in your life?
[54:12] He can be. He can be. Hallelujah. It's so wonderful.
[54:30] Just looking at this. Reading all these scriptures. And the many we didn't read. You know. Israel. They couldn't enter into the promised land.
[54:44] Because of unbelief. Unbelief. Is what keeps us. From walking in the power of God. Unbelief. Is what keeps us.
[54:55] From walking faithfully. And trusting him. In John 12.
[55:15] You get a couple verses here. That Jesus. Said. Before his crucifixion. And it applies. To us.
[55:26] As well. John. 12. 23. And Jesus answered them. Saying. The hour is come.
[55:37] That the son of man. Should be glorified. Verily. Verily. I say unto you. Except. A corn of wheat. Fall into the ground. And die. It abideth alone.
[55:49] But if it die. It bringeth forth. Much fruit. You know. And he's talking about himself. But he's also talking about us. If Jesus would not have died.
[56:03] There would not have been any hope for us. There could never have been a resurrection. If he had not died. But then he goes on. He says. He that loveth his life.
[56:15] Shall lose it. And he that hateth his life. In this world. Shall keep it. Unto life eternal. Just think. If Jesus would have loved.
[56:26] His earthly life. So much. That he would have said. Father. I just refuse. To drink that cup. It would all be over. We would not be here.
[56:40] It's the same with us. If we love our life. If we love our life. If we refuse to lay it down. That's all that you'll ever see. But if we lay it down.
[56:53] Then he can bring his life. If any man serve me. If any man serve me. Let him follow me. Where I am. There shall also my servant be.
[57:05] If any man serve me. Him. Will my father honor. Hallelujah.
[57:15] Jesus. Jesus. The first fruits. Someday. We will hear the trump of God. And we will all rise. All the dead will rise.
[57:28] In that resurrection morning. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. We just don't have time. To look at all of these. But Jesus said.
[57:40] All that are in the graves. Shall hear his voice. I should have read that. Instead of this. There's more to it.
[58:03] Marvel not at this. For the hour is coming. In the which all that are in the graves. Shall hear his voice. And shall come forth. They that have done good. Unto the resurrection of life.
[58:16] They that have done evil. Unto the resurrection of damnation. There's a day coming. That day is coming.
[58:32] And if we. Are living the resurrected life now. It will be an easy transition. In the glory. But if we.
[58:46] Have held back in unbelief. It will be a terrible day. Let's pray.
[59:03] Lord we thank you. That you did not stay in that tomb. But Lord that you rose again. Triumphant over our enemy.
[59:16] Triumphant over death. Hell and the grave. Triumphant over Satan. The devil himself. And all his hosts. Thank you Lord.
[59:29] Lord I pray. Lord. Move upon us. Lord that we will. Live in the power of your resurrection.
[59:41] Lord that in that resurrection. More. Hallelujah. We will hear that trumpet. And we will go to be with you. Lord Jesus.
[59:51] Lord. Lord. Might not one. Be like you. But Lord. Lord might we all be there.
[60:04] And many more. That will be brought to you. Lord Jesus. Lord help us. To be willing. To lay down our life.
[60:18] That you can live your life through it. Lord help us. Lord. Lord. To experience. Your resurrection power.
[60:30] Today. We pray in Jesus name. Amen. Noah. Lord God. Buddha. Amen. Won. Did he. Love you home. Anybody. Amen. Amen. Thank you.
[60:42] Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
[60:54] 360 meter. Amoswinity. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
